Your relationship with food is a complicated one, a love-hate relationship story for the ages. Food is both your best friend, and your worst enemy. Being a picky eater was not a decision you made willingly, but it is, unfortunately, a decision that rules your entire life. While you can hope that one day you might overcome the pickiness, these 10 undeniable signs say otherwise.

1. Looking up a menu before going to dinner is a must.

Nothing says stress like going to a restaurant you've never been to before. New places means new food, not all of which will be edible.

2. "Have you ever even tried it?" is an every day question you receive.

Just because you don't like foods that other people think are "normal," doesn't mean that you've never tried it. While trying new food isn't necessarily your thing, that doesn't mean you haven't been forced to try it before.

3. Making up excuses for not liking certain foods is your specialty.

You can't even begin to count how many times you've told someone you were allergic to something to get out of eating it.

4. Trying to explain how picky you are to someone else is a serious struggle.

Most of the time, people don't believe you when you say that you don't like certain things. They just don't understand.

5. Deciding what to eat is an even bigger struggle.

Your diet consists mainly of chicken fingers, french fries and pizza, and that is completely okay with you.

6. Going out on dinner dates legitimately gives you anxiety.

What if they think I'm weird for ordering my cheeseburger plain? Or for not ordering a salad or soup? These are actual thoughts that have crossed your mind when ordering food on a date.

7. Dinner out with your family means ordering off of the kid's menu.

You might be an adult, but your ordering habits say otherwise.

8. You don't hesitate to send your order back if it's wrong.

Let's face it. You've done it so many times that you aren't even embarrassed to tell the waitstaff that they got your order wrong.

9. Your reaction to seeing people eat things you would never even consider eating:

You will never understand how people could like certain foods.

10. At the end of the day, you're not ashamed of your pickiness.

After all, it's your life, not theirs.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
