If you’re like me, you take being called basic as a compliment. I never leave the house without a monogram somewhere on my body. My hair is usually curled and pinned up unless I’m feeling lazy. Basic isn’t a style, it’s a way of life!
1.Starbucks
You know what you want every time you go in and you don’t waste any time. Your order is a small paragraph, but that’s okay because you know your barista and they have already started putting your order in the moment you walk in.
2.MONOGRAMS, MONOGRAMS, & MORE MONOGRAMS
No one understands your obsession with putting your monogram on everything. It’s the focal piece of your room. It’s on your clothes, your hats, your bags, your jewlery, and your shoes. You have it in an array of colors so it will match whatever you pair it with.
3. Comfort Colors
Your Comfort Color shirt collection is ridiculous. You have them in long sleeve, short sleeve, v- neck, and sweatshirt. You have so many other t-shirts, but Comfort Colors is the only way to go. You’re willing to pay a little extra to get the “tag of approval,” and you are perfectly fine with passing up a shirt if it isn’t comfort colors.
4.Chacos and Birkenstocks
They are so ugly they are cute. Either you have one or you have both. They go with just about everything, and they are so comfy. Usually if I don’t have my Chacos on it’s because I was told I couldn’t wear them…
5.Your planner
Oh so colorful and oh so organized. Lilly Pulitzer definitely has the basic girl’s heart when it comes to planners. Every time you open it you smile a little because it’s so bright. You write in different color ink so you can stay organized, and if something is fun or important you draw a cute doodle by it.
6.Baseball hats
You love you baseball hats because they are a great addition to your “everyday going to class” look. They hide so much like your rough hair or if you’re rocking yesterday’s make-up. You have them in every color and pattern. Some have stuff on the front and some are bare. Long live the baseball hat!
7.Leggings and Norts
They are just so comfortable. You can wear them almost anywhere, and it is just fine. Throw a baggy comfort colors t- shirt over it and you are good to go!
8.Bows, Pearls, and Curls
We know how to slay every one of these. Curling your hair is never a bad idea, but when you put a bow in your hair it just gets better. Bows are a great accessory to any outfit. They can be dressed up or dressed down. Lets not forget about our pearls. They go with everything, and they are always classy. You can never go wrong with this trio!
9.Summer Time
This is your favorite time of the year because you can make great memories, and you don’t have to worry about school. You love the beach and the lake. You’ll try to get a nice tan and pretend to not have a care in the world. Your Instagram is full of pictures from your fun filled summer with clever captions.
10.Boys
During school you will find yourself befriending and dating new boys. College is a new ocean for you to fish through. You have your frat boys to the guy you meet in class. You will probably find the “basic frat guy” that attracts you. All I have to say is BE CAREFUL!
