Softball has always been a huge part of my life. I truly can't remember a time when I wasn't playing, thinking, or dreaming about softball. However, nothing made my favorite pass time and sport my most treasured memories except for my dad. My dad wasn't my inspiration to play, that I would have to devote truly to my aunt, but he was the greatest coach and life lessons teacher I could have ever asked for. My dad didn't always coach my team's. I started out playing when I was just 5 years old, my dad and aunt didn't start coaching until I was about eight though. The only reason my dad did coach that year is because no other parent from my teammates would step up and coach that year. I begged my dad that to coach so that I could at least play because, hey I loved the sport. From that year until I graduated high school my dad coached or helped coach my travel teams and my Khourey League teams. Here are a top 10 list, for me anyway, of that happen when your dad is your softball coach in any way, shape or form.
1. Most of your Father's and Mother's days were spent on the road and the diamond playing softball.
2. You have arguments to this day about how a game or play actually happened.
Because a lot of times your parents think you did something amazing when truthfully you didn't.
3. Your favorite father and daughter moments have to do with softball.
4. Every weekend in the summer was spent jamming out in the car to your favorite pump up playlist before the tournament.
5.Your dad still tries to coach you while playing slow-pitch.
Secretly deep down you still need their encouragement, but you pull it off like it's no big deal.
6. You became strong because no matter how hard you fell down or got cleated Dad told you a little dirt won't hurt.
7. You learned to never give up!
No matter how much you may have wanted to.
