10 Signs You Married Your Best Friend

When I met my husband, there was an instant connection. There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to be with him. While falling madly in love with how he made me feel, I realized something-- not only was he the love of my life, he was my best friend too. A lot of couples start out like we did, they go from meeting to dating, to being each other's best friends. Some couples start from the other direction though, they go from meeting, to best friends, to falling in love. Regardless of how you and your soul mate fell in love, here are 10 signs that your soul mate is your best friend.

1. They know your facial expressions.

Let's face it. You can't get away with anything. Your spouse knows when you're lying, they know when you're upset about something and they know that no, everything is not fine. So let's stop saying it is, ok?

2. They are the only person you want to see at the end of the day.

At the end of a bad day, all you want to do is go home, cuddle with your S/O and vent to them about what happened. They always know all the right things to say to make you feel better.

3. You can't stay mad at them for very long.

Fights don't last that long with my husband and me. I value him too much to let something get in the way of our friendship. There are too many things on my mind that I want to share with him. There are too many times where honestly, I just want to hear the sound of his voice. I can't have that if we are fighting.

4. You turn to them for all of life's ups and downs.

Life can be pretty messy, but it can also be pretty beautiful. I turn to my husband for every good day, bad day and every day in between. He is the first person I talk to when I need advice and he never fails to steer me in the right direction.

5. You can communicate with each other by facial expressions only.

My husband has a very distinct "stop being sassy" facial expression. 'Nuff said.

6. There are certain shows that you cannot watch without them.

“The Vampire Diaries?” That's my show.

“House of Cards?” That's his show.

“Friends?” That'sour show.

7. They keep your embarrassing secrets for you.

I am the queen of embarrassment and when I do or say something extremely stupid, I can trust that my husband will laugh about it in secret instead of telling everyone and their dog what happened. And the best part is that there's no blackmail involved!

8. You have your own secret language.

Ours mostly consists of weird, random movie quotes that nobody knows but us.

"Those eggs were a lie. A lie! They give me no eagle powers! The give me no nutrients!"

9. They've always got your best interest at heart.

With every decision they make, you are at the center and vice versa. You have tremendous love and respect for one another and they want to see you succeed in everything you do.

10. When they're away, you can't stop thinking about them.

Being away from them overnight is the worst. Even if it's just one night, you can't stop thinking about when you'll be home with them again. They're your best friend, after all and you want to spend as much time with them as you can.

I married my best friend and it was the absolute best decision of my life. We are goofy together and I have never had so much fun with someone. My husband is my soul mate and best of all, my best friend.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
