10 Signs Fall Is Near

Summer is great and all with the swimming, boating, beach vacations, and nice tans; but I'm over this season now, and so are a lot of others. These are a few obvious signs fall is right around the corner.

1. Classes Start

I know this is the not-so-fun part of fall, but it just means that it is so close.

2. Football

Kenny Chesney even wrote a song about it: "The Boys of Fall". Also, we’ve missed you tailgates; welcome back.

3. Smore’s Blizzards

When Dairy Queen starts selling these that means the season has finally arrived, and everything is better again.

4. Fall Scents

Yankee Candle knows what’s up and when fall comes around, and so does the Autumn Wood smell.

5. Pumpkin. Spice. Everything.

Donuts, coffee, cookies, you name it.

6. Halloween Stuff

Once Wal-Mart gets spooky, so do I.

7. Allergies

Another downside of fall. Zyrtec becomes your best friend.

8. Leaves, duh.

9. Fall Premieres

All your favorite shows start returning. (American Horror Story, September 5th).

10. Hoodies

Finally can wear oversized comfy clothes again.

Enjoy this last bit of summer, and prepare yourself for all of the above. Thanksgiving is in this season too, so how can you not like it?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
