I find myself thanking you multiple times throughout the week, Mom, but Mother's Day offers the perfect opportunity to thank you for everything at once. This list of reasons why you're the best mom ever is just the tip of the iceberg.
1. You're strong.
Everyone goes through their own stuff, but I've never seen someone do it like you. You're always moving, always trying to think of different ways to look at a bad situation, always staying positive. Because of all of those things, I was able to get through some pretty rough patches.
2. You care.
I don't say this lightly. Whether it's a good morning text, or a phone call on the day of a big test, or a "talk" about something I did, I have never doubted for a single second that you didn't care. Even when you're mad at me, I knew you were still in my corner and would do anything to help me.
3. You taught me a lot about hard work.
People ask me all the time where my work ethic comes from, and I'm convinced that you're a big part of it. You will do whatever it takes to get the job done, and I really admire you for that. I try to have the same mentality every single day, and it has really impacted my college experience.
4. You make me laugh.
I guess knowing a person for 20+ years helps you know when they need a laugh the most. You always brighten my darkest days, even when I don't think it's possible.
5. You're selfless.
You always put others before yourself. I know it's not always easy, but you make it seem like it's become second nature for you. You are genuinely concerned about every aspect of my life, and I really love that I can come to you with absolutely anything.
6. You're always down for long talks about whatever.
I don't know where I would be without these long talks. Some of the best advice has come out of these, and I still refer to it every time I need it.
7. Your cookies can mend a broken heart.
Enough said.
8. You're the most organized person I know.
I strive to be just as organized as you are. You always know when my doctor appointments are, how I should budget my money, where I left my other shoe, and so much more. I don't know what I'd do without your organization.
9. You always give honest answers to my hard questions.
I know that I can always come to you with absolutely anything, and that you won't sugar coat your answers. I can't thank you enough for being real with me, even if you knew it would be hard for me to hear.
10. You're my best friend.
You've been there from day one (literally) and that's something that no other grade school friend I've had can say. You're one of the first people I call when good or bad things happen, and one of the only people I can tell all my secrets to. I love you more than you'll ever know. Happy Mother's Day!
