Staying awake this summer has become easier. My phone seems to catch my attention whenever I don't need to stress about school. I find myself doing some crazy things late at night, maybe you can relate.
10. I always find an excuse to stay up.
To everyone that knows me, I will either be studying for the MCATs or watching a Disney movie at 4 in the morning. We all have something we love to do really late at night.
9. I like to pig out in the middle of the night.
You would be lying to yourself if you have never went downstairs to bombard your cabinets for junk food in the middle of the night.
8. I randomly start exercising.
I don't know if I'm the only one who does this, but in my busy schedule, sometimes I only find time to exercise at night. I will end up doing an intense workout at midnight or even later.
7. I'm binge watching tv shows or movies.
Since I never have time to watch tv during my hectic school year, I end up watching every tv show during my late summer nights. I also end up watching random movies because I have nothing else better to do.
6. I'm reading.

I love to write. It is pretty obvious, but the reason why I love to write at night is because I am in complete solitude. I am alone and I feel like I can gather all my thoughts up. I can really focus on one topic and just write.
4. I'm looking through my social media.
I end up looking through all my social media at night and when I wake up. The only other times I focus myself on it, is if I'm bored or if I'm receiving too many notifications.
3. I'm stressing about something.
I'm either thinking about something too much or am over analyzing something that shouldn't bother me. We all stress about our lives when we are laying in bed and start to point out what we can do to change or make our lives better. We also stress about our goals and start to become really ambitious instead of taking the rest we need.
2. I end up cleaning my room at 1 AM.
It starts with my desk, and then I'll start reorganizing just about everything else in my room. I mean why not? The only time I feel productive is when I am alone and its night time.
1. I'm an insomniac.
While typing this listicle at 3:14 A.M....I have trouble admitting that I have a hard time falling asleep. There is too much to do and basically everything seems so much more interesting at night. To anyone else that can relate, what are some of your tips to try to sleep earlier?
If you have ever found yourself doing any of these things late at night, don't be too alarmed. We all have those moments when we can't sleep. Sometimes the best thing to do is embrace your sleepless nights and just have fun in the moment.
