10 Reasons Why Being a Baseball Fan Sucks if You're a Girl

Guys are always so quick to judge a girl who likes to drink beer and watch baseball with them. Listen up, fellas: I'm not watching this game for your enjoyment. I actually enjoy watching my Yanks win continuous games, and continue to hold their first-place rank.

Here's some reasons as to why sometimes being a die-hard baseball fan as a girl sucks:

1. Guys think you're watching the game to impress them.

Oh, so you think that I know the entire roster and players of the past JUST to impress YOU? No, sir.

2. People think that your undying love for your team is "cute," or claim you're just a bandwagon fan.

I was blessed to have been raised in a house where I was brought up around sports, especially baseball/softball. Your opinion of my love for this sport and how I support it is irrelevant. Buh-lee-dat.

3. When you're out at the bar with your friends/boyfriend and your team is losing, but you cannot say anything because you'll make a fool of yourself.

This is a real problem. It's super hard to act like a lady while the Yankees and Red Sox are on and you're down 3-4 in the top of the ninth inning, and Nick Goody was brought in to close out the game and he's throwing like crap.

4. Wearing your team's jersey automatically makes you a bandwagon, or a "fake fan." I'm not wearing this jersey because I think it's a cute shirt; I like the team/player that wears it.

Yes, I rep one of if not the most popular baseball team, ever. That doesn't mean I'm a bandwagon or just like to wear Yankees attire. I grew up around pinstripes, and I will proudly support them.

5. When a guy asks you if it's okay if he turns off the game to watch something "a little more important."

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't think that there could be anything possibly more important than the current game that's on right now. Unless my house is burning down and it's on the news, the channel stays as is.

6. Guys think you're watching the game to look at the baseball player's butts.

Well, not the only reason.

7. When your team loses and your friend is a fan of the other team, they start talking crap to you, and no matter what your comeback is, you're just a girl and you're wrong.

Wait, hold on. Just because my team lost, doesn't mean my knowledge of them depreciates. Go ahead and take the win and be happy, but no need to go on and on about past World Series wins and past records to justify this very win.

8. When your team loses, and you have to act like nothing is wrong in front of everyone.

Yes, it is that serious. No, I do not want to lighten up. If you had half a brain and liked baseball, you would understand.

9. When your team wins, you want to celebrate in the only fashion you know how, which is buying strangers shots at the bar you're at, or finding the nearest alcoholic drink and chugging it.

Baseball can be a stressful sport to watch. When your team comes out with a win after being behind all game until the bottom of the ninth, you'd celebrate too; preseason, regular season, or postseason.

10. Being more knowledgeable of the sport than your guy friends.

If I have to explain what a walk-off home run, double play, or ground rule double is to you, you are not a baseball fan. This is simple terminology. It becomes a chore to have to explain the game play by play. Just shut up.

All a girl really wants in life is to have a guy who loves them for the crazy, insane fan that they are, and are right there next to them screaming and cheering on their team just as passionately as they are. Or, at least, that's what all the right girls should be doing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
