When you think about the best things in your college career what are they? The amazing classes? The opportunity to expand your mind? The amazing friends you will meet to help you through those hard exams and long nights? I mean yah, all of those are really important, but one of the best things about college, at least in America, is football. When fall semester comes around everyone knows that it's football season and everyone gets pumped for it. Why does everyone care so much about it? Well, at Pitt, game day is full of great times and I've described a couple of my favorites that give people a reason to paint themselves blue and gold from head to toe!
1. The University Of Pittsburgh Varsity Marching Band
There is never a dull moment when the Pitt Band is in the stadium, whether its playing stands tune or a halftime show, all throughout the game you will see the band always hailing to Pitt and pumping up the crowd!
2. Herald Trumpets
They basically open the whole football game and I'll be honest, they look and sound really great.
3. The Panther Pitt
The Panther Pitt is always lit, as the youths say, it's the place to be for Pitt students on game day and there's no other experience quite like it.
4. FOUR Quarters
The fourth quarter is the best part of the game! You get revitalized by singing 'Sweet Caroline' and then you get to see how the game ends, everyone should stick around FOUR it.
5. The Return Of James Conner

6. Sweet Caroline
Singing 'Sweet Caroline' is one of the best parts of the whole entire football game, everyone comes together to sing this amazing song with a little bit of a Pitt twist, definitely something that you want to be a part of.
7. Roc
The mascot for the Pitt Panthers is an amazing one, Roc will always, and without a doubt make any situation a great and fun one full of Pitt pride.
8. Pitt v Penn State
This long awaited game between rivals will not be a game to miss. If you're looking for a ticket right now good luck, they're either sold out or you're going to have to pay a couple pretty pennies for one.
9. Heinz Field
Not many people can say that their home field is an NFL stadium, and it is also home to the Pittsburgh Steelers, that's pretty amazing if you ask me.
10. Coach Narduzzi
If you have ever been able to talk with the Pitt Panthers head coach you will know thats he's a really cool guy and he has done a great job with the team so far.
All of these things and more are what makes a Pitt football game a great time, so make sure that you come out and root your Panthers on to victory!
