10 Reasons To Get A Dog In College
1. Dogs are the most loyal and genuine creatures put on this earth. A forever best friend that was put into our lives to make this world a little less shitty.
2. When you are stressed, they're there for you to lean your head on. To help keep you sane when everything seems to be falling apart.
3. They give you responsibility. In college you sometimes can lose track of whats important and take advantage of all the freedom. A dog brings you back to reality.
4. Security. Personally I feel a hell of a lot safer having a dog with me while walking around campus. I know that they would never let anyone cause me harm.
5. When you're sad, they are there. When you have a mental break down, or your relationship came to an end. They have nothing bad to say they love you no matter what. In the end they just want to see you happy.
6. Dogs keep you on your feet. Exercise and seem to be a last priority sometimes in college. When you have a dog you have to take them on walks to have to keep them active. In reality their the ones keeping you active.
7. A bond between you and your dog will never be broken. You now have a life long friend, when you think friends are disappearing all around you. They will always be there.
8. Boredom is a real thing in college. Late nights alone with Netflix, can sometimes really bring you down. Just having a furry little friend curled up with you makes you feel not so lonely.
9. Your always the life of the party. People come over and are excited because you have a dog. You'll get remarks like "Awe I miss my dog at home" or "Thank you so much for letting me play with your dog". In a way your spreading joy to others. Who doesn't love dogs.
10. Getting a dog in college is rewarding. You cant just take care of yourself but you can also take care of a furry companion. The fact that you are doing great in school, working, and taking care of a dog. Damn your adulting.
So all you college kids that have been debating whether or not to get a dog. I say do it. Its the best thing you can possibly do for yourself. Well don't do it if you aren't allowed pets in your building or cant afford to feed yourself. Then I say to give it time. At the end of the day getting a forever best friend is an opportunity of a life time. Take it.
