10 Reasons Why Pizza Is Better Than Sex

Sorry, I had to say it.

I never thought I’d say this but after coming to Chicago, pizza has completely rocked my world.

Although I have a love/hate relationship with you, you always know how to treat me right. You gave me the freshman 15 and have made me go bankrupt but I guess that’s alright. I’ll let it slide because you're worth it.

Since pizza is almost on my mind as much as sex is on a guy’s mind, here are some conclusions I’ve drawn for why it's acceptable to pick pizza over a guy.

1. “I fell in love with you because you loved me when I couldn’t love myself.”

All I can say is PIZZA. I turn to pizza almost every time I have a bad day and it immediately turns my frown upside down. Can a boy do that as fast? Absolutely not.

2. “I have completely fallen for you. Everything you do, everything you say, everything you are. You’re my first thought in the morning, you’re my last thought before I fall asleep, and almost every thought in between.”

It’s undeniable how much I think about the way a deep-dish cheese pizza & ranch compliment each other perfectly.

3. “That person who enters your life out of nowhere, and suddenly means the world to you.”

I loved pizza before arriving to the promised land of Chicago but life finally had meaning after I had my first personal cheese deep-dish pizza with ranch at Lou Malnati's. I will never forget that moment when our eyes first locked.

4. “The best feeling is when you look at him and he’s already staring.”

This is the exact feeling I get when I notice the waiter is bringing what looks like MY pizza. This feeling is pretty comparable to orgasmic.

5. “I don’t know what my future holds, but I’m hoping you’re in it.”

Unfortunately, I was cursed with a family who carries Celiac Disease (gluten-free people). So I better start eating pizza for breakfast, lunch & dinner before this curse of a gene catches up to me.

6. “I’ve seen the ugly parts of you and I’m still staying.”

IDK about you, but to be completely honest I have literally been in bed stuffing my face with pizza, naked, no makeup on and I have never felt as unconditionally loved in my life. If this isn’t real love IDK what is.

7. “Distance means so little when someone means so much.”

So you’re telling me I have to walk a mile to get to the closest Lou Malnati’s? You bet your ass I’ll be taking an Uber there almost every day.

8. “Waiting is a sign of true love and patience. Anyone can say, I love you, but not everyone can wait and prove it’s true.”

Love is patient love is kind blah blah blah. You know it’s love when you have to wait 30-45 minutes for a damn deep dish pizza to bake in the oven.

9. “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

That last bite of cheese pizza with extra ranch or that last slice of BLT pizza brings tears to my eyes. Saying goodbye for a few days so I don't exceed 500 lbs is quite heartbreaking.

10. “I kinda like someone who gets jealous and protective but still trusts me.”

Now I’m not the cheating type but when it comes to pizza I have quite the wandering eye. Lou Malnati knows he will always be my favorite but sometimes I can’t help but ordering in Pizza Hut or going to Homeslice for their “Funky McChicken." The magic of my relationship with Lou though is he knows he can always trust me to come running back to him.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
