Have you ever been sick at college? Well if not let me explain to you why this is the worse thing on the earth. Here are the 10 top reasons why being sick is the worse, especially at college.

1. Taking a trip to the health center on campus

Let’s be honest, we all rather go to a regular doctor but since the campus doctor is free we end up going there. You walk into a room full of other sick college students and if you aren’t sick then, you sure as hell are sick now.

2. Those absence points

In the beginning of the semester all the professor say how many times you can be absent. Well, I hate to break it to the professor, but I need more than one absence to get over the flu. Though they often say they will excuse you if they get the proper paperwork, it seems they never do.

3. You'll start realizing how much you miss your pets

When your back home, you may not realize how often your animals cuddle with you. You start to miss that large blob of fur laying next to you making sure you stay warm.

4. Your parents keep calling you

Mom and Dad, listen I love you but sometimes I just want to sleep. I know your worried and I know you want to know everything but I am currently dyeing in my bed. I promise I will call you in the morning but for now please just let me rest in peace.

5. You can’t just be sick

I love all my friends but when I’m sick I want to be separated from the outside world. Please let me just sleep in my bed all day and do not bother me. If I need anything I’ll be sure to let you know.

6. Cleaning EVERYTHING

You never realize how much you have to clean when you’re sick. You now have to strip the bed, carry your clothes to the laundry room, and then pay for your dirty sheets to be washed. Then when your sheets are being washed you realize you should probably take a shower and while you’re at it disinfect your whole room.

7. Your mom isn’t there

Even though those phone calls can get annoying, you still miss lying in bed and having your mom take care of you. She usually feeds you a nice homemade soup and will make sure the temperature of the house is just right for you. She makes sure that you understand that eventually you will get better and that she will be right there to help you. But at college, you have to fend for your own and make sure to keep your mental spirits up.

8. Once you’re sick, you’re sick forever

When you’re at home, a common cold only stays around for a day or two. But in college, this is a whole new story. It feels like you are sick for weeks, and the worse part is you usually are. You feel sluggish forever and it seems that you can barely get ready for your 10 a.m.

9. Picking up your prescriptions

I don’t know about you, but at Plymouth State University the closest prescription center is at least a fifteen-minute walk. When I’m sick I am not going to walk that so then comes the process of finding someone to drive you. This is such a long process because everyone has different schedules and you don’t want people to feel pressured driving you.

10. Being sick

Listen, you're sick at college; there are no positives to this situation. All you have to do is try not to panic about missed classes and make sure to eat well. Try to keep your spirits up and get well soon!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
