So in case you have been living under a rock, the Olympics have taken over the airwaves. For two short weeks athletes have been competing for gold, representing their countries and performing for all the world to see. While we still have a week left to witness the ultimate feats of strength, the first week in Rio has been nothing short of entertaining. Here are some of the reactions we all had during the craziest parts of the 2016 Summer Rio Olympics.
1. Watching the opening ceremony and cheering for USA like it's your job.
However it was still pretty incredible to see as few as two athletes representing other countries.
2. When you tried to follow the schedule only to be confused, sad and lost.
I'm not the only one, right? RIGHT?
3. When French gymnast Samir Ait Said broke his leg, Dutch cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten horrifically crashed, British gymnast Ellie Downie tumbled on her neck...
Just when you finished Googling how old is too old to start training for the Olympics, this happens.
4. When Katinka Hosszú, aka the Iron Lady, won the women's 200m backstroke event.
I'm happy for her, she deserves it! It was just...shockingly fast.
5. When #PhelpsFace emerged and you knew drama and some boss swimming was about to happen.
If you didn't use #PhelpsFace meme did you even watch the Olympics?
6. Watching any gymnastic event.
7. Watching diving and becoming a certified diving judge.
Too much...TOO MUCH SPLASH.
8. When Lily King ROASTED Yulia Efimova, her Russian competition.
King had a strong opinion on her opponent being reinstated into the games after a doping ban.
9. When Phelps won his 23rd gold medal?!?!?!?!
PROUD AMERICAN MOMENT.
Needless to say, I'm excited to see what the second week of the Olympics has in store for us!
