One of the hardest things about doing homework is actually sitting down and starting the assignment. No matter how hard you try not to, everybody procrastinates, so you might as well do something productive while you are avoiding your work. Here are 10 things you can do instead of that dreaded homework assignment.

**Warning: Once you start, you may not be able to stop**

1. Search for a job or internship.

Go to LinkedIn, your school's career search network, or a website like internships.com. I promise you will find an endless amount of job listings that interest you.

2. Shop online for gifts.

Whether Christmas, your roommate's birthday, Mother's Day or another holiday is coming up, there is always something for which to shop. While you should not spend your precious time scrolling through your favorite clothing store's website, shopping for others is definitely worth your time. I could spend forever on shutterfly.com.

3. Make a schedule for the week.

If it is a Sunday and you are dreading all of your impending assignments, write out everything that you have to do and divide it up over the days of the week. This will make it easier for you to get everything done on time, and make each day seem a little less overwhelming.

4. Go to the gym.

If you are one of those people who has trouble motivating yourself to go to the gym, tell yourself that you have two options: gym or homework. No matter which option you pick, you will be productive.

5. Clean your desk or dorm room.

This is another action that seems totally unappealing until you compare it to doing unwanted homework.

6. Call your parents or grandparents.

Do not let the conversation last too long if you have a lot to get done, but it is always nice to check in with your relatives when you have the chance.

7. Do your laundry.

You can even wash your sheets if you are really feeling inspired!

8. Go through your closet.

Go through your wardrobe and really think about what you do and do not wear. If you have not worn something in years, donate it.

9. Work on a skill or hobby.

If you are a writer, work on your latest story or article. If you are a musician, practice your instrument. If you love knitting, knit your sister a scarf. If you do not have a hobby, find one.

10. Craft.

This is a category of its own because it has so many different applications. Craft for your future little if sorority recruitment is coming up, paint a cooler for formal (you may have to wait a few months for this one), or start an Etsy business. The possibilities are endless if you are artistic!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
