10 Organizations At UWG For You To Join This Year

10 Organizations At UWG For You To Join This Year

Whether you're a freshman or senior, it is never to late or too early to get involved on campus. The University of West Georgia offers a handful of things for students to do to branch out and do something they would enjoy. There is a club/organization out there for everyone. This is an opportunity for you to make new friends, network, and even grow as a person. If you don't know where you'd fit in, you can check out all the organizations on Orgsync and the UWG website. Here's a short list of some of the many options out there.

1. Sororities and Fraternities

Sororities and Fraternities offer many different opportunities for members. Each organization has a set of ideals and beliefs which they were founded upon. Everyone is encouraged to visit each sorority or fraternities website for more information.

2. Religious Organizations

There are a few different types of religious organizations on campus and each one has different beliefs. The Baptist Collegiate Ministries, Catholic Life, and Campus Outreach are just three of the religious based organizations you can get involved in.

3. College Republicans and Young Democrats

With it being election year, this is the perfect time to join a political based club. You can help promote your candidate around campus and voice your opinion to others.

4. Bass Club

If you enjoy fishing, this is the club for you! This past year, they qualified for the national championship! Be sure to visit their Facebook page to find out more.

5. History Club

Are you a history buff? Join the history club! They mingle with each other and share their knowledge of history. If this is the club for you, be on the lookout for the new fall meeting times in the history department.

6. Student Government Association

The Student Government Association is the voice of the student body. They hold elections in the spring but allow anyone to sit in on their meetings. If you're interested, start getting involved now!

7. Pre-Nursing Student Organization

Nursing is a very popular and competitive major at UWG. The PNSO allows for pre-nursing students to interact by creating study groups and support.

8. Board Gamers at UWG

If you enjoy kicking back and playing a game of Monopoly, Chess, etc. then this is the club for you!

9. Climbing Club Team

If you've always wanted to competitively rock climb, this is the club for you! The club is open to students of all skill levels. They compete at various competitions throughout the region.


10. Marine Biology Club

According to their Orgsync, "The purpose of the Marine Biology Club will be to inspire and educate future marine biologists and scientists on matters of professional development, networking, and conservation of marine systems." If you want to learn more about marine biology join this club!
