Creating a New Years Resolution at the start of the New Year is a great way to get the "new you" you've been aching for. If you're stuck and have trouble finding inspiration, maybe these 10 New Years Resolutions may help you work towards your goals in 2017.

1. Get In Shape

Getting in shape is not restricted to the concept of losing weight. Getting in shape could mean toning muscles in your body or just redefining certain features. If you're looking to get a great butt, working out will definitely get that in shape.

2. Start A New Diet

If your old diet is plain, trying picking up one of the many different food habits that work for many people. If you're curious what it's like living vegetarian, try giving up meat for a week or two. Who knows, maybe your new source of protein will satisfy your taste buds!

3. Thrift Shop For Clothes

Not only is it cost efficient, but you'd be surprised how many trendy clothes people recycle at thrift stores. Flannels are back in style and are a popular thrift store item. Who knows what else you could find!

4. Volunteer Once A Week

If it's serving food at the soup kitchen or helping your favorite politician, volunteering provides important work with opportunities you cannot get from paid work. You essentially become your own boss while you help out others for free. On the bright side, it looks good on a resume!

5. Watch The Daily News/Read The Daily Paper

Keeping up-to-date with politics, weather, and sports is great for obtaining information about our daily world around us. You may surprise yourself with the knowledge you learn from the news -- it could come to you as a good topic for conversation with friends and family.

6. Monitor Your Blood Pressure

No matter what age, understanding how to monitor your blood pressure could spare you from a costly trip to the doctor. Buying a home kit is useful. Especially since high blood pressure may damage and weaken your arteries and increase your risk of stroke, knowing when to call your doctor is important. Understanding your blood pressure is indispensable.

7. Go Outside

Direct sunlight is a great source of vitamin D and although it has trouble reaching your skin when you're all bundled up during the winter months, a breath of outside air is always refreshing.

8. Play Board Games

We're in the midst of a technology-based era and old time board games are losing their popularity. Although you can download monopoly and play Uno on your smartphone or tablet, bringing the family together with board games after dinner is a great way to spend quality time.

9. Learn A New Language

There are 40+ languages in this world and to know only one of them is a shame. The art of language loses itself with Google Translate and we simply forget how to communicate. Learning a new language can broaden your cultural experience.

10. Travel

At the turn of the new year, schedule a trip to somewhere exotic! Go to Australia! Go to Africa! Schedule a break off from work or plan to go during your off days if you're in school and travel! Traveling is an irreplaceable experience and the opportunities you didn't have present themselves like never before. You meet new people and see parts of the world thrive before you!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
