10 Movies That Give Us Hope In The Male Species

Girls rule, boys drool. A true statement, even once we reach adulthood. However, as much as the male species can sometimes put us on an emotional roller coaster, we can't help but deny that we are convinced our Prince Charmings are still out there somewhere. Thanks to these Hollywood miracles, our hope in the male species is kept alive.

1. "13 Going on 30"

Matt: the coy, sensitive type.

A childhood best friend turned lifelong lover, Matt knew Jenna like the back of his hand. He saw her beauty, even when she didn't see it in herself. Kudos, Matty.

2. "Sweet Home Alabama"

Jake: the rugged, persistent type.

A small town boy who knew the best for ex-fiance gone city girl. His soft stubbornness got him what he wanted, and her what she needed.

3. "A Cinderella Story"

Austin: the sensitive high school jock.

He was tired of his high school popularity, and was ready for something deeper and more heartfelt. "Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game," ladies. Guys like Austin are out there.

4. "The 5 Year Engagement"

Tom: the dedicated, patient type.

After five years of obstacles and preventative matters to their marriage, this man was done waiting to seal the deal with his girl. Tom knew that while pulling off a perfect wedding wasn't a possibility, he could throw together the most rapid wedding ceremony ever so he could be with the girl of his dreams.

5. "Something Borrowed"

Ethan: the protective best friend.

He's one of those people who would drop anything to help you out. He is your biggest cheerleader and will always have the advice you know you need to hear.

6. "When Harry Met Sally"

Harry: the one who sees beauty in the little things.

"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night."

What a man you are Harry, what a man you are.

7. "High School Musical"

Troy: the one who sings his way to your heart.

He doesn't stick to the status quo, NO, NO, NO! He doesn't need the high school popular girl, but rather is willing to get to know the math geek. He breaks stereotypes all while singing and dancing.

8. "50 First Dates"

Henry: the considerate guy.

Nothing says considerate more than someone who is willing to fall in love with you not once, but 50 times.

9. "The Notebook"

No explanation required.

10. "The Proposal"

Andrew: the sacrificing type.

In the beginning, it all may have been a ploy to save his manipulative boss's job, but Andrew's witty and charming ways were able to swoon even the most stubborn, type-A girl out there.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
