As the school year is in full swing, most of our Facebook newsfeeds are swamped with quirky facts about our friends in business fraternities and other organizations. As prelims are on the horizon, there is no better time to figure out how to cheat the system simplify your already hectic life at Cornell. From dining to quarter carding, this list compiles a variety of things that will hopefully make time on the Hill a little bit easier.
1. You can hand out hundreds of quarter cards at a time at the Willard Straight Popcorn Stand.
Ever been stuck outside in the rain handing out quarter cards? Worry no more! The lovely folks at Willard Straight's Student Activities Center would love to make your life a little easier. Just hand them a stack of quarter cards and they'll staple them to popcorn bags for all to enjoy.
2. You can buy deli meat at CTB!
Maybe I'm the only one who craves a late night snack of turkey slices...regardless, if you go up to the counter at 2 AM and order two slices of deli meat and give them 50 cents, they will feed you.
3. Don't want to eat in a dining hall but still have swipes? To Go boxes from Oakenshield's are your new best friend.
Just ask Happy Dave for a to go box, ignore the stink eye he's going to give you, give him your ID and get your food! This is a great way to enjoy the weather while it's still nice - sit outside on the terrace without draining your BRBs.
4. You can CornellCard laptop repairs.
Panicking about a shattered screen but low on cash? You can Bursar laptop repairs, even if they have to be outsourced from the Cornell Store.
5. Eat for free by attending information sessions all over campus.
As you probably have realized by now, there are a TON of clubs, groups, fraternities, etc. on campus. Most of these have information sessions, and most of these have free food. Said food ranges from cookies to pizza to sandwiches, and it is VERY easy to get enough to be full.
6. Helen Newman and Noyes offer FREE fitness classes with a gym membership.
Work off all the food you've gotten for free by flailing during Cardio Fuego, sweating at Spinning or doing something that I'm not familiar with but is apparently really popular at Barre. Look online for the schedule here, and keep in mind you have to arrive 30 minutes beforehand for certain classes to ensure a place in the class.
7. The end of year Dump and Run is a treasure trove of excitement.
I don't know if y'all are as excited about free things as I am, but anything is infinitely more enticing to me if I don't have to pay for it. For those who haven't experienced the Dump and Run, it is the lovely disposal of perfectly good items that takes place at the end of the year. Dorms, sororities, fraternities, and independent living centers will have collection bins near their entrances. That, friends, is where you come in. I'll go into more detail on Dumpster Diving when the semester draws to an end, but if you're willing to get your hands a little dirty, this is a GREAT way to get new furniture, electronics, and more.
8. Grocery delivery is alive and well in the Ithaca community.
Too tired to bus down to Wegman's or P&C but need groceries? RosieApp (www.rosieapp.com) is here to help! They offer full inventory of P&C Fresh and will deliver straight to your door. Though delivery is usually $3.99 to Cornell's dorms, they'll give you a FREE delivery with the code FRESHDELIVERY or GOROSIE at checkout.
9. Gannett offers a wide range of free services throughout the year.
From flu shots to contraceptives, Gannett offers many opportunities for Cornell students to get immunized and healthy for free, regardless of whether you subscribe to SHIP or not. Furthermore, seeing a doctor is only 10 dollars, and all laboratory tests required are free!
10. CALS Students get FREE one-on one tutoring!
Yeah, I wish I was in CALS too...

I hope you learned at least one thing from this list, and now know where to get your late night deli meat fix. Good luck this semester!
