When I think about the person I was this time one year ago, I find myself cringing. I had become overwhelmed and exhausted in almost every aspect of my life. It came to the point where I could hardly eat, I could barely sleep, and I rarely made it through days without breaking down into tears. I was drowning emotionally, mentally and physically. It took months to totally pull myself out of that hole. However, I know first hand, it is possible. It took me completely transforming the way I viewed the world and surrendering myself to the pain I was feeling to finally build myself back up again. I wouldn't be half the person I am today without holding myself accountable to these gems. I am forever grateful for the life with which I've been blessed with, and am
even more thankful for the obstacles that have lain before me. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to change the lenses with which you see the world.
1. Stay inside your "hula hoop." The only person you are accountable for is yourself.
2. Add to your spiritual bank account, it does not always have to be your financial one.
3. Pray for the people that frustrate you the most and only wish upon them the best intentions.
4. Acknowledge love in all its forms.
5. Rid your heart of animosity and replace it with acceptance.
6. Express your thoughts and only say what you mean.
7. Every event in this life has a purpose and each person has their own unique role.
8. Take a moment each day to thank your higher power, whatever or whomever it may be.
9. Remember that you are completely powerless to the universe.
10. Never allow anyone or anything to dull your shine-- you must find your own happiness.
