10 Inspirational Disney Movie Quotes

When life starts to get me down, I try to look up inspirational quotes to help me realize that everything is going to be okay. I somehow always manage to end up at Disney quotes. So I have compiled a list of 10 of my absolute favorite Disney movie quotes.

1. “A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart.” – Hercules

Hercules is without a doubt my favorite non-princess Disney movie ever. It was one of the first movies I remember my whole family watching growing up. Back then I eventually decided that the movie wasn’t cool anymore cause my parents liked it. Now I treasure not only those memories, but also this movie.

2. “I never look back, darling. It distracts from the now.” – Edna Mode, “The Incredibles”

Classes lately are getting more intense after the midterm mountain has been climbed. If I stress over the fact that I made a low grade on this quiz, that I should have stayed up later to read the section better, or that I should have gone to one of those many times I was free to ask a professor a question during their office hours I will eventually pull my hair out. So in the spirit of Edna Mode, I choose to stop sweating the things I should have done and focus on what I will do to make myself a better person and student. It also helps to always remember, “no capes” when making a fashion statement.

3. “If you don’t know where you want to go, then it doesn’t matter which path you take.” – Alice in Wonderland

When life gives you the opportunity to chose between two paths in life what do you do? Do you choose the one with the quickest way out or do you choose to stick it out throughout the hardships on the way? No matter which path you choose, life will give you another opportunity to do something else great if the first path doesn’t work out.

4. “Go live your dream” – Tangled

Even though this may not be a long quote it is one that can easily be remembered when life gets you down in the dumps. The quote reminds me that if I don’t pursue my goals and aspirations, then I won’t achieve them. Even if your dream is just to go see the floating lights like Rapunzel, the best part when you achieve that dream is that “you get to go find a new dream.” So go out see the world, do something you never imagined, and share your dreams with those you love.

This picture was on Walt Disney World's Snapchat story a few weeks back, if you want to follow their Snapchat it is "waltdisneyworld".

5. “Go chase your dreams, you won’t regret it. Anything can happen if you let it.” – Mary Poppins

I feel like any character who was played by Julie Andrews automatically is someone you should listen to. Mary Poppins taught us as children that dreams are very much a part of our reality. Even if you fail at your dream or get derailed, you shouldn’t let it get you down because you are the only one who can let it get you down.

6. “Sometimes you gotta get through your fears to see the beauty on the other side.”- The Good Dinosaur

Everyone has their fears, for Arlo in “The Good Dinosaur” it was basically everything. Having fears are never a bad thing. However if you let your fear consume you, you might never reach your full potential.

7. “Keep moving forward.”- Meet the Robinsons

Now for those like me that know their Walt Disney trivia, you know that our main man Walt Disney said this quote first. The writers slid the quote in the movie to remind the audience that even though Walt isn’t here to be a part in the movie making processes anymore, his ideas and passions are still a huge part of the company today. The quote reminds me that even though I make mistakes daily, that I need to learn from them and keep my head up.

8. “Even miracles take a little time.” - Cinderella

Miracles don’t work over night, and sometimes unanswered prayers are the best kind. If you try not to rely on miracles to save you, you may find that that when miracles do happen you truly appreciate them more. This also goes for tests in life and in class; you can’t walk around getting by on the skin of your teeth forever. Take matters into your own hands and be your own miracle.

This is from one of the many times I got to meet Cinderella in Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom.

9. “The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.”- Mulan

Being different than the rest of the pack is what makes you special. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve something. If Mulan could go off and save China from the Huns as a woman, then you can go out and live your life however you want to.

Mulan now has her own little alcove in EPCOT's China Pavillon.

10. “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” – Winnie the Pooh

Everyone has someone that they hate saying goodbye to. Whether it is a parent, a boyfriend or girlfriend, or your dog they make you so happy that you don’t want to be parted from them. I am reminded when I see this quote that even though I hate leaving my dad at home six and a half hours away, he is there when I need him the most.

I got to meet Pooh and Tigger at the Thotful Spot in Magic Kingdom this summer. Christopher Robin, Piglet, and Eeyore are also there at different times for you to meet.

Disney is something that manages to make us cry sad tears and be happy all at the same time. It brings out special emotions in us all and I hope that they make you feel half as happy as they make me.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
