Spending a majority of the summer apart means that seeing your friends from college becomes an absolute necessity. After weeks of trying to coordinate your work schedules and vacations you finally picked a date to come together and spend time catching up.
1. The reunion.
You’ve been waiting forever for this moment and it’s finally here. Whether you do the dramatic jump-and-hug or prefer an excited hello, from the first moment you see your college friends your mood instantly gets better and you know you’re in for a great time.
2. The compliments will fly.
You’ve done some changing since school let out, and your friends have too. If you’ve lost some of your Freshmen 15, worked on your tan at the beach or changed up your hair, your college friends will notice and promptly swoop in with the compliments (and you’ll reciprocate, of course).
3. The Instagram picture.
Whether you pose for a group picture or opt for one of the many “candid” shots of you laughing, Instagram is sure to be blessed with a picture of you and your friends #Reunited.
4. “I have so much to tell you!”
After not seeing each other for weeks you’ll undoubtedly have many things to talk to your college friends about (even if you already texted about it, because texting doesn’t do a good story justice). You’ll spend a good amount of time catching each other up on the latest, greatest (and most dramatic) things in your life.
5. “Remember that time…”
Your friends remember it all; the good, the bad and the ugly. Getting together with college friends poses the perfect opportunity to talk (and laugh) at the things that happened over the past year.
6. Being able to talk about things that only they understand.
Your college friends have seen a side of you that not many other people have – you learned things about yourself from being with them that you couldn’t have learned with anyone else. Being back with the people who helped you grow up in a new environment allows you to feel comfortable and talk about things that other people just wouldn’t understand.
7. Visiting their home.
After knowing these people in a college environment, getting to see where they live is a nice change of pace. You can check out their hometown, meet their family and learn things about them that you couldn’t anywhere else. Plus, there are plenty of opportunities to take pictures of their childhood photos displayed around the house and save them for blackmail later.
8. Talking about moving back.
Although you enjoy a summer free of schoolwork, you can’t help but talk about the upcoming year and all of the things that you hope will happen. You’ll discuss how you want to decorate your room, who you cant wait to run into at parties and hope that this year will live up to your high expectations.
9. Not sleeping.
Just like in college, reunions with your college friends will most likely leave you very sleep deprived. Whether you go out on the town or stay in and talk late into the night, time will get away from you and leave you with a few hours to catch some zzz’s (you'll make up for it later though).
10. It feels like nothing changed.
Although you have your separate lives apart from school, getting together with your college friends makes you realize just how much they mean to you and just how lucky you are to have them.
