10 Things Girls With Boyfriends Are Tired Of Hearing

Society has either made dating too glorified or hated among young men and women. Honestly, I can say that I was one of those girls who looked at a couple and said to my BFF, "Ugh, never ever let me get like that". It's so true what they say, you don't understand until you're in their shoes. So, from a fellow girlfriend to fellow BFFs and even strangers, please stop saying these things. It's super annoying. *Eye roll*

1. "You're with him too much."

Uh, duh? He's my boyfriend? So, I choose a kid that I like being around and is fun to be around? Why would I not want to spend time with my fun-ass boyfriend? Also, what I do with my time is my business--and I'm having fun. I hope you are too.

2. "Why do you let your boyfriend control your life?"

I absolutely, positively do not let him or anyone else, for that matter control my life. I let him know where I'm going and who I am with for a reason--respect. I maturely think, how would I like it if he never told me. R E S P E C T. If he honestly doesn't think it's a good idea, I'll respect his gut feeling and probably go with it.

3. "You're literally so whipped."

I'm sorry, what? Because I do what he asks of me, and he does the same? It's also another respect thing. Obviously, if the request is absurd, you'll hear me saying absolutely not. But, as my boyfriend. He would never ask something of me that makes me feel uncomfortable.

4. "Do you honestly think that you're going to stay together for long?"

I mean that sort of why we're dating- because I can see myself marrying him? I mean, isn't that the whole point of dating? I've met so many high school sweethearts, college lovers, and even people that fell in love within 6 months. Love doesn't have a time limit, color or gender. Love is love, ladies and gents--it's 2017.

5. "Aren't you sick of him?"

Do you ever get sick of yourself? I mean, whoever says it feels it right? I mean, no. I'm dating him right? Am I committed to just be with him for the long run? Do you know how relationships wooorrrrrkkk??

6. "You're too young to be tied down already, you're missing out."

I'm super proud of young men and women who choose to be alone, and have fun with themselves, I mean that's great. But please realized that just like I can have fun with my boyfriend, I can have fun with my family, friends and myself. I think that I'm more mature realizing that the world is so much bigger than yourself and I'm learning how to manage myself between the three.

7. "I don't need a man to make me happy!"

Awesome, good for you--seriously! It's not that I need him to be happy. Does he make me happy? 110%. But being with him also taught me how to make myself happy.

8. "Aw, you're still in the honeymoon stage--just wait until you get through that."

People have made up these stupid ass stages that define what part of the relationship you are in. "You don't even know each other's flaws yet"... BRUH, PUH-LEASE. Stop trying to understand what we have or define what my relationship is.

9. "Ew..."

My bad y'all. I just showed affection to my boyfriend. I know it's so totally gross, but seriously get over it. What are we 12? We're not getting hot and heavy in front of you. Showing affection to your loved one is totally normal. Your comments, however, are totally out of line.

10. "I was going to invite you but I figured you'd be with your boyfriend anyway!"

I mean, like, you threw a banger at your house, you couldn't have just thrown out an invite to the both of us? If it's a girls' night, why couldn't you just let me know? It's seriously simple nowadays. Just send a text. There is literally no reason not to invite someone just because of their relationship status.

Do you get it now?

Thank you!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
