10 GIFs That Perfectly Encapsulate Writer's Block

Have you ever sat down at your computer and laptop to write an essay, a story or even an article and just found that you couldn’t do it? It is not that you don’t want to write it (because let’s be real, the stress to get it done is practically eating you alive) but it is just that you can’t. You can have the idea floating around in your head and even put words down on a page and still nothing sounds right. Ladies and gentlemen, you have just experienced my worst enemy, Writer’s Block. Here are 10 GIFs that just perfectly sum up what it’s like to experience writer’s block.

1. Realizing you do indeed have writer's block.

This is that moment when you realize that browsing around on Tumblr has less to do with getting you not starting your paper than you initially thought.

2. Knowing you need to get the piece done regardless.

The world never seems to care that your mind decided to take a vacation just when you needed it the most. Nope! You have to somehow work past all those roadblock you just keep hitting over and over and over and over again.

3. Trying to figure out why you have writer's block.

Seriously don't even bother. Your head will thank you later.

4. The anger stage.

Screw this! Screw That! And most of all screw you, brain!

5. Feeling as if all hope is lost.

You know, my bed looks a lot more inviting than my desk right about now. It's not like I'm going to get any work done anyways. (Don't fall into this trap, it will only lead to more frustration and anxiety, trust me.)

6. More anger!

Oh you thought you were done with the frustration? Try typing a paragraph and see how you feel after that.

7. Not knowing what to do next.

The defeat is real.

8. Reading all those tips for defeating writer's block.

This is when you are on Wikihow looking up ways to get over your block and you realize you've hit a new low.

9. When none of those tips work.

Let's be real, you tried those tips anyways and they still didn't work.

10. The begrudging acceptance.

Finally accepting that you are just going to have to sit down and write your paper no matter how bad it may seem. But hey, at least you can just say that it's a draft.

Writer's block can be the worst, but at least we can all take some comfort in knowing that we are not alone in feeling this way. In fact, if you ever need a little reassurance, hop on to your nearest social media website, or even google, and type in writer's block. You will find thousands of people groaning and moaning just like you. Happy writing!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
