10 Fun Fall Activities To Do With Family And Friends

Fall is around the corner, and I can't wait for it! I love warm fall sweaters, apple cider, and all the fun that fall brings. I'm sitting here with my roommate day-dreaming about fall, so why not dedicate a whole article to the second most wonderful time of the year (with the first being Christmas)! Sit down, relax, and daydream with us about all the fabulous fun that fall will bring...

1. Go apple picking

Apple picking is a must for fall! Gather your roommates, friends, and family because the more people you bring, the more apples you can put in your pockets! (Sorry, but a bushel and a peck are very expensive for college students. If Doris Day loves you a bushel and a peck, you better believe that it's a lot!)

2. Go pumpkin picking

And after you pick the perfect pumpkin, watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!" It's a classic and it will make you remember how much you disliked Lucy.

3. Watch football games

Saturdays are for the boys!

4. Decorate for Halloween

What's better than putting on a witch hat and decorating your house with fake spiders and spider webs? Nothing. The answer is nothing.

5. Buy a Halloween costume

I don't care how old you are because EVERBODY should dress up for Halloween! It's an excuse to wear the things you'd rather be wearing every other day of the year. (I would love to be a princess and wear a gown every day, but unfortunately, I have to conform to social standards to make it in this world.)

6. Buy a PSL from Starbucks

Every person becomes an Ugg boots-wearing, PSL-drinking white girl in the fall. It's inevitable.

7. Bake pies

Apple pie, pumpkin pie, blueberry pie... all pie warms the heart and soul!

8. Get lost in a corn maze

It's not fun if you don't get lost! It may take hours, but if you get hungry just grab some corn, husk it, and eat it!

9. Have a bonfire

I always love to make the fire myself, so I can show off to my friends that I don't live in the upstate New York woods for nothing.

10. Go out to dinner at Smalley's!

This is me at Smalley's Restaurant in Carmel, NY. It is my favorite restaurant that is supposedly haunted, so it is a favorite in my town for Halloween. This is an embarrassing picture of me in October of 2010 during my awkward middle school years. If you read this far in the article, you have the right to make fun of this picture of me. I wish that all of you have a fall as fun as I did back in 2010!

Being Invisible The Best Super Power

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
