Everyone loves watching movies (those who don't well, you are weird). I love every kind of movies from action movies to comedies. The only exception are the horror movies. Honestly, I don't understand the purpose of those. Why is it good if people get scared and then they can't sleep for a week because of nightmares. Back to the topic, movies give us the experience to be part of something different that we can't experience in real life or even just for a second not to think about or problems. One of my favorite type of movies are the wedding movies. It might be a cliche, but I can't help it. I love the idea of wedding, especially the planning part.
1. "27 Dresses"
The main actors are Katherine Heigl and James Marsden. The plot is: Jane has been a bridesmaid for 27 times, but she never found anyone for herself. Secretly, she is in love with her boss (George), but unfortunately he starts dating her younger sister, Tess. Meanwhile, Jane met a guy, Kevin, who is a reporter. He writes wedding announcements for a magazine. I let you to figure out the rest of the story while you are watching it!
2. "Bride Wars"
This movie is also one of my top choices. The main actresses are Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson. The story is: two childhood friends, Liv and Emma are planning on getting married at the Plaza Hotel since they were children. After both of them got engaged, they booked their date at the Plaza Hotel for two different dates in June, but a mistake ruined everything and their wedding was booked at the same day. It is a really funny movie and I can only recommend it. If you didn't know, I was considering being a wedding planner for a while because of this movie.
3. "The Wedding Date"
Kat's sister is getting married in London. Kat's mom told her that she hopes she is not going alone to the wedding. Unfortunately, she doesn't have a boyfriend so she had an idea to hire a male escort to be her date for the wedding. After she spent some time with the man it turned her life upside-down. I saw this movie recently, to be exact in December for the first time and it immediately became my top favorite movie.
4. "My Best Friend's Wedding"
This is an older movie, but still one of the best! The main actors/actresses are Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Rupert Everett and Dermot Mulroney. The plot is: Julianne and Michael have been best friends for years, but never more than that. One day Michael calls Julianne and tells her that he is getting married. Julianne doesn't want to lose her best friend, so she makes everything to stop the wedding. I think this movie became so famous because of Julia Roberts. The funny thing is that the actor who plays Michael is the same actor who plays in the previous movie I listed.
5. "The Wedding Planner"
The main actor/actress is Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey. Mary is a wedding planner and this is the only thing she interested in. One day while she is on her phone to discuss some details with the client, her shoe heel gets stuck in a manhole cover. Right before a dumpster would hit her, a man who is standing nearby saves her life. After this at the hospital she meets this guy again.
6. "Perfect Match"
This is a Hallmark Channel original movie so it is not a very popular movie, but when I saw it for the first time I loved it! The story is about a wedding planner, Jessica and an event planner, Adam. The mother of the groom hires them to plan the wedding together, but it doesn't seem that easy. It is a very recent movie, it came out in 2015. If you want to get some inspiration, you have to watch this movie!
7. "Made of Honor"
It is a very famous movie with Patrick Dempsey (aka McDreamy) and Michelle Monaghan. Tom has lots of girlfriends, but he has only one best friend, Hannah. Hannah needs to go to Scotland to work. As soon as she leaves, Tom feels like that he is lost without her. He realizes that he wants more, but it's too late because Hannah already got engaged in Scotland. Hannah asks Tom if he could be her maid of honor. I think I don't have to tell more about the story because it's already hilarious that he is going to be her maid of honor.
8. "License To Wed"
The main actors/actresses are Robin Williams, John Krasinski and Mandy Moore. Sadie and Ben are planning on getting married, but before that they have to attend a marriage preparation course to find out if they are meant to be married in that particular church. It is a really entertaining movie with some turns.
9. "Monster-in-Law"
This movie is hilarious. One of the funniest one. On the women side there is Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda, on the guys side there is Michael Vartan. The story is: Charlie who has multiple jobs, one day on the beach meets a guy, Kevin. At first, she thought that he is gay, but then later on when they meet again Kevin asks her out. They start dating and when he first introduces her to his mom, he propose her. And that's when his mom starts going crazy. I remember that I watched this movie with my mom and we couldn't stop laughing!
10. "The Big Wedding"
This is a recent movie. The main actors/actresses are Amanda Seyfried, Katherine Heigl, Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon, Robert De Niro, Topher Grace and Robin Williams. It would be too complicated to tell you what is the story about because there more than one story lines. The whole story is leading to the wedding. Basically, we look into every persons life.
11. "Bridesmaids"
This is the extra movie that I put here. If you don't want to watch a too romantic movie and you would rather watch a less emotional, more adventurous movie this is the best choice for you. It is about the bridesmaids and the bachelorette party. Believe me, you want to watch this movie.
I hope you will watch these movies with your best friends and either cry or laugh together!
