I have to say, fall 2016 TV is pretty jam-packed. So many great shows are returning and this is your time to start watching. From comedy to drama to horror, there is something for everyone. I understand that most of them are pretty far into the series already (i.e. Greys Anatomy is on Season 13) but that’s what Netflix is for. So start binging all of these great shows before its too late! I know it might be hard to catch up but it will be extremely worth it.

1. "Grey's Anatomy" - September 22 on ABC

The extremely popular (and life-ruining) medical drama is on its 13th season and I don’t think fans have been this excited since Meredith and Derek’s first kiss. Although it has taken a bit of a downward spiral since the early seasons, you won’t want to miss what happens next.

2. "New Girl" – September 20 on FOX

"New Girl" is one of the funniest and most clever shows I have ever watched. There isn’t one episode that doesn’t have me cracking up and I don’t really understand why it isn’t more popular.

3. "How to Get Away with Murder" - September 22 on ABC

This show turns tables more rapidly than I have ever seen. The acting and storylines are so bizarre and exciting. HTGAWM is one of Shonda Rhimes' newer shows and all the seasons are on Netflix so I would definitely recommend watching if you like to be surprised.

4. "American Horror Story" - September 14 on FX

So I am not a big fan of horror, but I have a bunch of friends who have loved AHS since it first premiered. If you like terrifying characters and changing storylines then this is the show for you.

5. "The Goldbergs" – September 21 on ABC

I started watching "The Goldbergs" with my dad about a year ago and fell absolutely in love with it. It is a true story about a boy growing up in the 80s surrounded by his crazy family and friends. If you need a show to watch with your family, definitely get cracking on this.

6. "Modern Family" – September 21 on ABC

"Modern Family" has won a bunch of Emmy's and it is no surprise. The show completely deserves its 8-year run on TV and I don’t see its popularity dying out anytime soon. This is another great show to watch with your family.

7. "Scream Queens" - September 20 on FOX

SQ is another horror TV show that has been hyped up since the first episode. The second season is bringing in John Stamos and Taylor Lautner while keeping all of its other original characters. Do I need to say more?

8. "Vampire Diaries" – October 21 on the CW

Over the summer, I watched VD from start to finish and loved the constant suspense and love stories. It is coming back for its final season this fall and I think its time for everyone to see where these characters end up.

9. Once Upon a Time – September 25 on ABC

I have only watched a few episodes of "Once," but it is an extremely unique show that makes all of your favorite fairy tales come alive. The show has been on for a while but its continued popularity is astounding.

10. "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" – November 25 on Netflix

Last, but definitely not least, the show the world has been waiting for. I watched all of "Gilmore Girls" over the summer when I heard it was coming back and now I cannot wait. The show is coming back in a mini-series on Netflix with four 90-minute episodes that are bringing us all back to Lorelai and Rory Gilmore and Stars Hollow. I am counting down the days until I can hit play.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
