August is notorious for being the Sunday of all of the months, resulting in a panic whenever it comes around because it marks the too close for comfort end of our summer vacation. While August brings a lot of sadness and anxiety, we often forget that we still have a whole month left of summer! Here are some things that will cure those "August Blues" until it’s time to go back to school.
1. Have a beach day.
Take advantage of the last sunny days by soaking up the sun in the sand with your friends.
2. Go to a food place you’ve been dying to try all summer.
Cool cafe's are a must for summer brunch.
3. Take a trip.
Sad that you haven’t done enough this summer? Go on a little getaway to the mountains, or find a cheap plane ticket to another state and go do something fun!
4. Plan to re-decorate your room for the school year.
A new aesthetic for my dorm or bedroom always makes me feel refreshed and ready for a new school year.
5. Buy new decorations for your dorm.
If you’re going into another year of college, get some new decorations so that your new Sophomore year dorm doesn’t look the same as your Freshman year one.
6. Plan a dinner before you and all of your friends go your separate ways for school.
Re-live old times and talk about exciting times to come.
7. Go to a random concert.
Musicians are playing every single night. Buy a ticket for a band or artist you’ve never seen before, dress up, and go fall in love with some new music.
8. Back to school shopping!
Nothing gets me more hyped for school than new pens and an abundance of blank notebooks...but I could just be a nerd.
9. Have a pool party.
Nothing says summer like a bunch of friends swimming around listening to some great music while eating even greater food.
10. Make an "August Bucket list."
Try every flavor of ice cream at your local ice cream shop by the end of the month, or go cliff jumping with your friends. Try to finish everything on the list before you go back to school.
The possibilities are endless for the last month of summer, so make sure to grab your group of friends and make the most out of this sad month we all call August!
