The Oscars are known as the most prestigious award ceremony of the year. However, there are a huge number of actors and directors who have never been nominated or never won an Academy Award. Some might surprise you.
1. Johnny Depp
It may be hard to believe but Captain Jack Sparrow does not have an Oscar especially with his recent work acting as Presidential Candidate Donald Trump. However, he has been nominated for his portrayal of Sir James Matthew Barrie in the 2004 film "Finding Neverland".
2. Will Smith
Will has been in the news recently in boycott of the Academy Awards alongside his wife, Jada. He hasn't won an Oscar but has been nominated for "The Pursuit of Happyness" in 2006 and "Ali" in 2001.
3. James Franco
James has done a lot of acting work as well as recent directing but has not won an Oscar. He was nominated for the film "127 Hours" where he played a man who lost his arm. He won the Golden Globe for the TV movie "James Dean" but it was not nominated for an Oscar.

Jessica Alba has been in many films over the years such as "The Fantastic Four" and "Sin City". She has never been nominated for an Academy Award.

Zoe is mostly known for her roles in the films "The Guardians Of The Galaxy" and "Avatar" but has never been nominated.

Christopher Nolan has directed many hit films including "The Dark Knight". He was nominated for an Academy Award twice for "Inception" and once for "Memento" but has never won.

Tim Burton is the mastermind behind many of your favorite characters such as "BeetleJuice" and "Alice in Wonderland." He has never won an Oscar but has been nominated for two animation films, "Frankenweenie" and "The Corpse Bride".
