10 Celebrity Women You Should Obsess Over Instead Of Kim Kardashian

If you are anything like me, you really do not understand or support when people obsess over the Kardashians. Maybe I am missing something, but it just makes me mad that while people will watch hours of their awful TV show, we're missing out on some of Hollywood's finest women. Why don't we start obsessing over some of these women, who are known for being funny, beautiful, and intelligent, and honestly have such admirable talent?

1. Tina Fey

OK, so first is Tina Fey, because if there is any one famous woman who is so totally underrated it's freaking Tina Fey. She is easily my favorite celebrity woman. She’s hilarious and so insanely smart with her talent. Ever seen a little gem called "Mean Girl"? She wrote it. "30 Rock"? Wrote, created, and starred in it." Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"? Yep, writes and co-created that. And let’s not forget her long-running stint as a writer of SNL and starring alongside Jimmy Fallon (bae) and Amy Poehler on "Weekend Update." If you love hilarity and intellect, I suggest you start obsessing over Tina Fey. Start by reading her amazing book, "Bossypants."

2. Amy Poehler

So basically like her celebrity BFF, Amy became a huge hit for being just about the funniest woman ever on SNL. Then she left and starred on a small show you’ve probably never heard of called "Parks and Recreation." If you can’t tell, I love funny women. She just about tops the list, especially when as Leslie Knope on "Parks and Rec." And again, watch any of her interviews, she’s smart, beautiful, and hilarious. I would totally watch a reality show with her and Tina Fey just goofing around.

3. Mindy Kaling

Hmmm, is there a pattern here? Funny women rock. Many know her as the hilarious Kelly Kapoor on "The Office," but did you know she also wrote, produced, and directed on the show, too? Not surprising considering she’s an Ivy League graduate from Dartmouth College. If you’ve ever as much as scrolled through her Twitter or watched "The Mindy Project," you know she’s just adorable, funny, and witty. And making her so easy to obsess over is the fact that she acts like she’s just like every other woman. Ugh, love her.

4. Ellen DeGeneres

When you saw the title of this article, did you really think Ellen wouldn’t be on this list? It should honestly go without saying, but Ellen basically is the most humble, kind, generous, and hilarious celebrity of all time. Whether it’s when she’s giving those in need a place to live or giving us cramps from laughing so hard, it’s hard to ignore America’s best person, Ellen DeGeneres. Honestly, #EllenForPresident

5. Amy Schumer

She is everywhere these days, and yet I still can not get enough of Amy Schumer. Her humor is seriously one of a kind, and the most relatable if we’re being honest. Easily the most witty human being ever, she recently stood up for herself, telling off a magazine who categorized her six/eight sized figure as “plus-sized.” Hell yes, Amy. Thanks for standing up for curvy gals everywhere and teaching us to embrace being a sexy, hot mess, and be funny. If you’re not obsessed with her already, go watch her huge 2015 successful film "Trainwreck."

6. Rashida Jones

OK, first, have you ever seen Rashida Jones? OK, good. So you know just how stunning this woman is. You probably know her from "Parks and Recreation" or "The Office," but if you really want to see how incredible she is, check out her newer show "Angie Tribeca." And of course, because being beautiful and funny isn’t enough, she also is an Ivy League graduate with a degree from Harvard. Rashida Jones is definitely worth obsessing over, and you should seriously do some research on this triple threat.

7. Britney Spears

So you’re probably thinking that she’s a little random considering the others on the list, but TBH I love Queen Britney. Literally let’s just ignore 2007-meltdown-Britney, and just focus on this and this and this and this too. OK, so you like girl power and undeniable talent—then you, too, should be obsessing over Britney Spears. Case closed, Britney always will be the best.

8. Emma Watson

First of all, she’s Hermione Granger, who honestly if was a real person would be on this list too. But hello? Emma Watson is not only adorable, smart, and an incredible young actress, she has done amazing things for women’s rights in the past few years, and has even been named a UN Woman Goodwill Ambassador. Listen to this speech of hers, and tell me you don’t love her and thank her for all she’s doing for feminism.

9. Megyn Kelly

Megyn is seriously a great woman. She’s gained lots of attention lately for her and Trump going back and forth after he wouldn’t participate in a debate where she moderated. She hosts her own show, "The Kelly Files," where she investigates and reports on breaking news stories and hot issues at the time. Before she was a journalist, she was an attorney, and often discusses politics and economics on her shows. She is also a total babe, and if you don’t know her, you should start obsessing now because she will only get bigger and bigger.

10. Kristen Wiig

To round out all of the amazing women, I’m ending with Kristen Wiig. If you’ve ever seen "Bridesmaids," you’re probably already obsessed. But oh my god, I love her. Just like other women who got their big start on SNL, she’s super intelligent and witty as hell. I could watch her on SNL as Gilly or the Target Lady literally all day long. She’s staring in the upcoming remake of "Ghostbusters," and I could not be more excited to see her kill it. I love her and hello just look at her. #Babe.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
