Ah, glorious Spotify. I have to say after being a long time user of the online music radio competition, Pandora, I was tempted into trying Spotify. Sorry Pandora, it's not you, it's me. When I first tried Spotify, I used the free version. I'll be honest, I thought it was crap. I found it pointless that I couldn't download songs, I only had a handful of skips just like my beloved Pandora, and I couldn't make my own playlist, and OH the ads! So I ditched the account. However, after being repeatedly harassed by friends when a Pandora ad would pop up when I had my music plugged in, I turned back to the dark side. I found a way around all my hassle! The student discount for Spotify! It's five dollars a month and you have full reign of music, with NO ads. No this is not sponsored... but it should be. So after a weekend of downloading nearly all the music I love, I started exploring the other playlists. And I would say that the playlists are my utmost favorite feature of Spotify Premium! So for the past couple of months, I have gathered up my favorite playlists that I think everyone with a Spotify should know about!
1. Have A Great Day! By: Spotify
This playlist never fails to pick me up and put a smile on my face! Even at six thirty in the morning! Good stuff! This playlist provides a wide mix of oldies and newer hits. This one is good to plug in and sing along while applying mascara for a great day!
2. #ThrowbackThursday By: Spotify
Who doesn't love a good TBT? This playlist brings back all of those wonderful memories of middle school dances. Yeah. Remember those fun nuggets? They're back. And you're gonna love it. Bonus points if you get the person in the car next to you to sing along with you.
3. Acoustic Covers By: Spotify
I know for me, covers are hit or miss. And same with acoustic versions. This playlist is always being updated with the newest acoustic covers of the newest top hits. It's awesome for studying or getting things done. However, I have caught myself multiple times saying, "
4. The Ultimate Holiday Playlist By: Filtr US
Okay. Before you start going off on me. This playlist is perfect if you are in need of some Christmas joy. So don't judge me if I'm sitting here in September humming along to "Deck the Halls." Okay? You can always wait until Christmas time...so like November 1st, right?
5. Songs to Sing in the Shower By: Spotify
The title of this playlist is deceiving. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO WHAT IT SAYS! I love listening to this in the car, cleaning, walking to class, anything.
6. Fresh and Chill By: Spotify
This is another playlist by Spotify that is constantly updating! You are always getting the best, newest jams to just chill. You won't find a hard bass drop in this playlist, so just chill out, read a book, and find some new favorite tunes.
7. Walk in Like You Own the Place By: Spotify
Need your hoodrat to come out on your way to work or an exam? This is the playlist for you. This is not one to put on in the car with Grandma.
8. BREAKUP SONGS By: Filtr Norway
Need a good cry? Want to go trash someone's truck? Blast this playlist. Invite your girlfriends over and cut him out of all of your pictures.
