Supergroup Led Zeppelin truly was the bass-line for all rock 'n' roll. Spawning from many inspirations across the musical spectrum, Zeppelin transcends any particular genre. Their stylistic interpretation of music is often described as folk, blues, metal, rock, reggae, soul, funk, even Latin or Celtic at times. The band has exceeded any expectations of a supergroup and set the bar high for many artists to come. Here are, in my opinion, the 10 best Led Zeppelin songs of all time.
10. "Kashmir"
Whenever I hear this song, it always reminds me of the N64 game "James Bond 007." Anyone else?
9. "Ramble On"
This song is very empowering. Whenever I listen to it, I feel like I can run a marathon... and I can barely run a mile.
8. "Whole Lotta Love"
Stemming from more of a harder rock inspiration, this song is wonderfully written about a girl.
7. "Rock and Roll"
Although this song was overplayed for me by my brother's old band, it is still one of the greats.
6. "Bron-Yr-Aur"
Compared to all the other songs, this one is seemingly short. It's amazing nonetheless. Although it is an instrumental, you will always catch yourself humming the guitar melody.
5. "Thank You"
Written for a lover, my interpretation of this song is about how one person is the inspiration for them to live and believe they will be able to live through the apocalypse with them by their side.
4. "Ten Years Gone"
"Then as it was, then again it will be," sings Robert Plant. This music is amazing because it is timeless. A new generation discovers Zeppelin every day.
3. "Rain Song"
Now we are starting to get to the top three favorites. This is just a beautiful song. If happiness is described in a song, it would be this.
2. "Going to California"
First off, this is a must if you're on the plane to California. The guitar work in this piece is complex but perfect for finding your long-lost love.
1. "Stairway to Heaven"
"Stairway to Heaven." I hope you don't find this too clichéd, but this is truly undoubtedly the best, world-renowned song by the band that changed music in its entirety.
