What is one of the best parts of the holidays? Food of course! And more specifically, desserts. I absolutely love being in the kitchen with my family and making yummy creations that I will get to devour later that night. The only problem I ever face, is which desserts I want to fill my plate with first. That is why in this article I would like to help you decide on your favorite treat by presenting to you my top ten most anticipated holiday desserts!

Try no to drool too much as you look at these scrumptious delights.

10. Cranberry Salad

This beautiful red concoction is number ten on my list because, while it is a Thanksgiving classic, it is only my favorite in little portions. I can eat an entire chocolate pie in one setting, but this dessert calls for little spoonfuls at a time!

9. Sugar Cookies

My favorite thing to do with sugar cookies is to decorate them for the holidays! From Santa to stockings, trees and ornaments, these cookies make an awesome family activity. However, chocolate chip cookies will always be my fave, so these sugary pretties stay at number nine!

8. Peppermint Bark

There is nothing better than sinking your teeth into some delicious peppermint bark! The combination of the chocolate and peppermint is sigh worthy and afterwards, you're left feeling minty fresh.

7. Cake Balls

Cake balls are so much fun to make! They are delicious and you can do so many different styles with them. You don't want to do turkeys? Then mix it up and make small Santas, ornaments, or snowmen. The possibilities are endless!

6. Peanut Butter Fudge

Soft and chewy, and so light and wonderful! Peanut butter fudge is an absolute must for me around the holidays. While chocolate fudge will always hold a special place in my heart, there's just something about biting into creamy peanut butter fudge that makes my tummy all warm and fuzzy.

5. Cheesecake

With this beautiful red and green decor, such a pretty cheesecake is ready for the holidays. As one of my top three favorite cakes I know I am definitely ready to invite a cheesecake over for a holiday dinner!

4. Gingerbread Cookies

How could you go wrong with a plate full of these happy little fellas? Decorating gingerbread cookies and gingerbread houses is such a fun activity! Then, when they're cooled to perfection, break out a glass of milk and enjoy. Such spicy goodness if perfect for the holiday season.

3. Pecan Pie

Mmmm pecan pie! I am in love with the amazing, gooey filling that this pie has. Pair it with the crunchy nuts and I am ready to dig in! This pie is definitely a favorite for Thanksgiving dinner.

2. Ice Cream

This dessert is a little bit out of the mainstream for typical holiday desserts, but I love it anytime and anywhere! My uncle makes the best homemade Oreo Ice cream that we get on special occasions and needless to say, I would be one happy gal to get some of it for this holiday vacation!

1. Pumpkin Pie

Last but not least, we can't forget about the pumpkin pie. A holiday classic this pie will always be one of my absolute favorites! Creamy and wonderfully seasoned with pumpkin spice, topped with whipped cream, no one can doubt that this pie is usually the star of the show!

I wish you all the happiest of holidays and I hope that each of you gets to enjoy your favorite dessert, as well as the wonderful gift of family.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
