#1 Most Devastating Problem in America

The worst part is that in order to get rid of these face criminals many believe that their are limited in solutions: pop the pimple ( which leads to scarring), pay for expensive acne products or settle with the horrrible fact that the pimple needs to run its course for a couple of days and ruin your happiness! I say NO MORE! It is time to take back control of our faces, chests, backs or wherever your problem area may lie! It's time to discover what will clear up your beautiful skin quickly! In order to do so first let's discuss the root of the problem.

Cause and Effect:

Pimples are a result of clogged pores. A pimple is a papule/ pustule that can develop from the build up of oils on the face or body, bacteria and/ dead skin cells. Sebaceous glands within the pores of the skin that secrete sebum can cause the dead cells to be left behind and cause blockage of the pores rather than allowing the dead skin cells to shed. This can lead to the unwanted build up of bacteria, such as propionibacterium, that can cause inflammation of the skin.

Home Remedies:

Maintaining a balance of how many times you wash your face, or problem area, in a day is key to making sure your face is clean without removing or building up too many oils. Here are three efficient and cost effective home remedies.

1. Steam

Opening the pores is very effective to unclogging the skin. Pour very hot water into a bowl. Place a washcloth or towel in the hot water and place the hot towel or cloth on your face. You can also allow the steam from the bowl to rise and come into contact with your face.

2. Ice and Toothpaste

Icing your problem area is a great way to tighten your pores, remove oils/ bacteria, and reduce inflammation. Wrap crushed or cubed ice in a paper towel or piece of cloth and lightly place the ice over your problem area, remove and repeat as necessary. After icing your face put a small amount of white toothpaste (not gel toothpaste) on the pimple. Keep the toothpaste on for a minimum of 30 minutes or keep the paste solution on over night. After the allotted time, rinse your face. Toothpaste contains "benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or sulfur, all of which can help reduce redness and speed healing".

3. Honey

Honey is a wonderful healing agent for the skin and can help prevent infections because it acts as a natural antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory agent. The natural antibiotics fight off unwanted bacteria. Honey is also great for avoiding scaring post pimple, acts as a moisturizer and prevents future breakouts! Use a cotton swab to dab the honey on the problem area.

Effective Store Products:

Oil free face washes with salicylic acid are the keys to success for pimple free skin! Here are also a few effective store bought products:

1. Proactive

2. Clean and Clear

3. Origins

After Acne Treatment

Moisturizing your skin and acne affected areas is key to avoid after acne scarring. Replenishing the skin frequently can allow the affected area to stay hydrated and can also reduce inflammation leading to "less disruption to collagen production and transportation to the site".

No matter the cause, effect, or solution the best way to maintain healthy clear skin is by eating a balanced diet, drinking lots of water, avoiding stress, -maintaining a average level of physical fitness and getting lots of rest! Help yourself by living right!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
