Being in a sorority, everyone assumes that you can craft and make the most amazing Pinterest-worthy things. That is not always the case. Many sorority girls (myself included) cannot craft and discover their lack of talent in the middle of "Little season." After this past Little season, I have found some easy ways to make crafting much easier and still look good.

1. Keep it simple

I know we all want to wow everyone with our over the top, Pinterest-worthy crafts, but sometimes the simpler, the better. Solid colors will become your friends.

2. Don't overwhelm yourself

I always start four different canvases at once and then stare at them all not sure where else to go. Take it one at a time, and complete one before even thinking about starting the other. Say bye-bye to the late night crying over having no idea what to do with your seven canvases with only the background painted.

3. Don't compare yourself to others

Crafty roommates and Pinterest are two of the worst things for us un-crafty people. Take inspiration, but don't feel like yours have to be as perfect as them.

4. Practice

It might seem like old news, but it's still true. Practice makes perfect.

5. Glitter it

Glitter! It makes everything look better.

6. Use paint pens like a boss

They're the most amazing discovery for everyone who tries to craft. Writing, perfect polka dots and fun designs, all made possible by paint pens.

7. Enlist a friend

Find those crafty roommates and ask for some help with whatever you're not the best at. You're probably not bothering them and you're definitely flattering them.

8. Don't be afraid to go for it

It may seem scary to dive into a complicated craft, but sometimes you just have to go for it. It's just paint after all, and you can cover it up if you need to.

9. Make your mistakes work

As Hannah Montana once told us, "Everybody makes mistakes." Still true. Don't let one tiny mistake ruin your craft, find a way to make it work. I promise, you can make that one smudge work, and honestly people probably won't even notice it.

10. Be confident in what you make

In the end, whoever you give your craft to will love it, because it comes from you! Be confident and know you still rock, even if you can't paint a straight line for your life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
