7 Things I've Learned From Being a Dog Mama

I recently got a puppy. It took me ages to finally decide what I wanted to do. This is a big step in your life and something that you should strongly consider before you even think about getting a puppy. No one tells you how much work is actually behind the cute face and snuggles. Here's what I've gathered.

Sleepless Nights and Early Mornings are a Real Deal Dilemma

From waking up at 3:30 in the morning to go outside to waking up at 5:30 in the morning with a puppy ready to play sitting on your chest. This is a major lifestyle change, especially for me. I was used to going to bed when I wanted and waking up as I pleased. That's not the case with your four-legged buddy.

Puppies Cost A Lot of Money

You have to consider everything. From food, chew toys, and collars to vet pills, medicines, and training supplies. Puppies cost a ton of money and they continue to cost a lot of money.

Sour Patch Puppies

First, they are sour, then they're sweet. Same rules apply to your four-legged friends. Puppies have a temperament and it shows when you take toys away from them. Watch your fingers, puppy teeth are real.

Keep On Keeping On

Puppies never stop moving. Even when they sleep they are constantly moving. Keeping them busy is something that seems impossible but is also so crucial for your sanity.

The Best Cuddle Buds

From being curled up in a ball by your feet to sleeping literally on your head and hogging your pillow. Puppies are 10/10 always down to cuddle up and go to sleep. Especially when post plays time.

You'll be Obsessed in a Matter of Minutes

Can't say that I ever would be the crazy dog mom that makes an Instagram for their dog (follow lennon_mac on Instagram), but surprise I definitely am! The amount of pictures I have of my sweet boy is more than ridiculous but no one complains when I show them pictures.

A Love That Can't Be Matched

I would literally die for my dog and I bet a lot of you think the same way. I can't sleep at night without my little space heater and I simply don't know how to act when I get home from work to see Lennon. This is a bond that can't be matched.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
