In the south, the bigger the better and everything is sweeter than sugar. The tea is sweet and the food is fried. You love being outside and are blessed by the good Lord. You don't have to worry about the rain because more than likely it will end in five minutes. You would rather be barefoot than wear shoes, and if you do, flip flops are your go-to footwear.

1. Monograms

If you can put a monogram on it, it instantly becomes ten times better! Bows: monogram. Hat: monogram. Shirt: monogram. Car: monogram. "My sheets are monogrammed, so is my silverware, and pretty much everything else I own. My rule is, if it's not moving - monogram it" (Reese Witherspoon).

2. "Bless your heart" is a common phrase

When someone does something that is worthy of being made fun of, "bless your heart" is the perfect response. You really aren't complimenting them, you are just making fun of them in a nice way.

3. Sweet tea

It isn't just a drink, it's in your blood. You know which restaurants have the best sweet tea, the kind that is brewed hot and strong! You know that when you go somewhere and they only have un-sweet tea, sweetener is not even an option.

4. Football

During football season, Saturdays are an all-day event full of food, fun, and football. You can always tell who the real fans are by what they are wearing! Smack talk is the only way to talk, especially when it comes to the big rivalry is between Alabama and Auburn.

5. Y'all

"You" is one person, "y'all" is two people, and "all y'all" is two or more people. This is a word that encompasses many things. It is now in the dictionary, and you can always tell those from the North who use it in the wrong context.

6. There are at least four churches within a one mile radius

The South is the heart of the Bible Belt! You know that you have hit the South when you can drive down the road and see a church for practically every denomination within a one mile radius. You don't have an excuse for not having a church home because there is always an open door!

7. Krispy Kreme is WAY better than Dunkin' Donuts

You know that nothing is better than a hot doughnut from Krispy Kreme. KK is a delicacy and is best served with a tall glass of milk. Don't try to replace Krispy Kreme with Dunkin' Donuts, because they are totally different!

8. Faith and family is everything!

No matter what you may go through, your family is always there for you no matter what. You know that God has blessed you with all that you need in order to grow and prosper. You go to church together, you go to your grandparents for Sunday supper, and you stay together through thick or thin.
