When was the last time you saw a scary movie that genuinely scared you? The kind of movie that makes your heart race before the movie even starts. The movie that keeps you up at night, makes you hug your pillow a little closer.

Well, that movie is here, and it's "The Nun." For those saying that that movie isn't even scary, it's because you're already dead inside.

"The Nun" is the highly-anticipated prequel to "The Conjuring" films. It explains that how that weird vision kept coming to Loraine in the second Conjuring film, which answers a lot of questions, as well as bringing up new ones.

SPOILER ALERTS BELOW!

"The Nun" does more than scare the shit out of you. It leaves you questioning all that you know about what is good and evil in this world. From the moment you see the bolted door, with the creepy Latin inscription, "God Ends Here," you know that you're in for a wild ride.

There are a lot of spooky, creepy elements in this movie, not just the undead demon nun chasing people around. The story taking place in Romania, Taissa Farmiga starring in the movie, a beautiful Frenchman doomed from the start, a badass priest with a dark past, and a dark and creepy abbey seemingly empty yet full of a dark presence.

The set was even blessed by a Roman Catholic clergyman while the film was being produced, which should already make you feel uncomfortable. Aside from that terrifying demon nun Valak, some crazy shit continues to happen. The priest, Father Burke, is buried alive in the adjoining cemetery, the Frenchman, known as Frenchie, is attacked by a demon on his walk home, and Sister Irene, a nun in her novitiate, has crazy ass visions that deserve their own backstory.

The whole reason behind these hauntings goes back to a duke who had the castle built to worship the occult. He summoned the demonic entity with the blood of murdered men, but some Christian Knights killed him and sealed a rift in the catacombs, sending the entity back to hell with an ancient relic containing the blood of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, some bombings during World War II shook the castle, causing a crack in the rift, releasing the entity again.

And it's not just those in the abbey affected. When Frenchie returns to the village and stops at a tavern, he's told that a child has killed himself, most likely caused by the evil presence that's casting its dark shadow across the land. So Frenchie already knows that there's evil afoot, not just because he found the nun, Sister Victoria, that had hung herself, which makes him turn back around and return to the abbey to help Sister Irene and Father Burke.

Sister Irene has crazy visions, imaging that the nuns of the abbey are speaking to her and are constantly praying, in shifts, to keep the evil at bay. Neither Frenchie nor Father Burke has seen the other nuns, aside from the mysterious Abbess, who has been dead the whole time, and Valak has been using her dead body to speak to the others.

The mere sight of the demon Valak in the form of a nun is enough to give anyone the chills. She's a terrifying sight, which is why when she first appeared in The Conjuring 2, everyone shit themselves. But, the producers did a phenomenal job of tying her story into the rest of the films, and although I really want to spoil it, I won't.

I watched the whole movie through my fingers, and I prayed at least 10 Hail Mary's and Our Father's before bed that night, but I actually think I'll toughen up and rewatch it to see just what I might have missed.

If you're looking for a reason to keep you up at night, just watch The Nun.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
