Living in Florida my whole life, I'd never experienced a real winter. Some days it got below 70, and that for us was considered cold. I came up with this list from my experience with winter, even though a southern winter is nothing compared to up North. Here's my top ten ways that you know you're from Florida.
1. You’ve never experienced an actual winter.
2. You think anything below 65 degrees is “freezing.”![]()
3. You’ve never experienced snow at school until going out of state.
4. And got very, very excited when you saw snow.
5. You really don’t know what to wear anymore since all your clothes are shorts and t-shirts.
6. Not to mention, you have absolutely no idea how to dress for the cold.
7. Your go-to outfit for class is leggings and the thickest jacket you could possibly find.
8. None of your boots are broken in.
9. You’ve never seen trees without leaves before.
10. All your northern friends think this winter is nothing, when it’s the coldest one you’ve ever had.
Happy Winter, Florida natives. Stay warm out there.
