Gillett, Wisconsin: a small Oconto County town about forty miles Northwest of Green Bay, Wisconsin. It is home to four restaurants, two gas stations, one grocery store, and about 1,100 residents. Gillett has one small school district; the elementary school is approximately 1,000 feet away from the Secondary School. The secondary school holds roughly 350 students from grades six through twelve, but like every other school in the world, GHS has things that only students who attend will know.
1. OJ’s Midtown has some of the best pies you’ve ever tasted, as well as the best burgers in a bag. When you obtained off campus lunch privileges, OJ’s was one of your favorite spots, and not because it was one of the only spots.

2. Homecoming week is pretty big in GHS, yet somehow no matter how hard each grade tries the seniors always take the spirit trophy. Although the assumption that it is rigged is always denied.

3. Pizza dippers were always the most popular meal in the lunchroom. Usually, people brought a bagged lunch from home and ate it in the commons. On pizza dipper day, however, the small, overcrowded lunchroom seemed just a little bit more crowded
4. Due to the small capacity of GHS, everyone knows everyone. This has its pros and cons, pro- you know everyone so it’s easier to manage your day to day life. Con- You know everyone, so if you do something stupid, or do anything for that matter the whole school will know about it by the next morning.

5. The best time during the school year is when the GHS FFA members give every student free ice cream! Thanks again guys!

6. I’m sure we all remember hearing about the ‘secret tunnel’ connecting the Elementary and Secondary schools. In fact, you probably have tried to find it once or twice, haven’t you?

7. Can we just take a moment to appreciate the amazing new stadium that was put in a few years back? Not to mention it’s also a Veteran’s memorial, which makes it even cooler!

8. Everyone has their favorite teacher, I know mine was Mr. DeJung. His Word History class was by far my favorite, and not only because I copied the answers down as he read them off in class. Between copying homework answers, and trying to hide my cell phone under my backpack, I say my C- in the class was fair.

9. The constant staff changes kind of suck. As soon as you would become close to a teacher, the next semester a new one would take their place. I know for a few years, there was a new choir teacher every fall.
