You Don't Need Anyone Who Doesn't Need You
Sammaffia Online

You have heard it so many times before. Remove every one in your life that treats you like you were only created for their convenience. Anybody who treats you like a second option or an after thought - kick them the hell out of your life. I am not saying "Give them another chance. Talk to them about how they make you feel. Is it your fault that they are treating you this way?" That is not at all what I am saying.

I am telling you to remove them from your life as if they are a stain on your favorite shirt. Erase them from your inbox, take away their contact picture, un-memorize their number. Delete them from your mind the way you would delete a show from your Netflix queue that you know you will never watch. Stop thinking and just do it. You aren't being insensitive, at least you are disposing of them instead of putting them on a back burner like they did you to.

You were friends with them for years? That gives you more of a reason to get rid of them. If they have been doing this for years then they knew what they were doing to you all along. I am not saying you need to treat them like an enemy, but I am telling you to stop treating them like your number one priority or your only responsibility. You are your number one priority, remember that.

All your life you grew up hearing "Be a good person. Good people get good things, bad people get nothing." And all you ever did for anybody was be a good person. Yet, these people treated you like you were a gas station that was always open for their convenience. They wrote you at the bottom of their list of things to care about in life when you used to write them at the top of yours.

Stop making an effort to keep people like that in your life. Stop hoping that they will change, they never will. Stop trying to mend the remaining pieces and just realize that you can't salvage everything. Stop handing out your love and dedication to people who brush it off like a crumb on their lip because you don't need anyone that doesn't need you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
