You Can Make The World Believe

Do you pretend to be someone you are not every day; perhaps a happy, care-free person with their life in order?

You Can Make The World Believe

Make Believe

You can make the world believe what you want,

There isn’t anyone out there to tell you that you’re wrong.

Are you the girl that has the confidence through the roof?

Or are you the girl that lies to make it through?

You can make people see you as strong,

While at the same time they are believing something so wrong.

Weakness isn’t a characteristic to have,

Being strong is something people love.

It can be fake or real as long as people believe it,

All you want is to be able to fit.

When people start to read through your front,

You do whatever it takes to put it back up.

The struggle of being strong is real,

It’s hard because of all of the doubt you feel.

People can tell you that you’re pretty all day,

What they don’t realize is you won’t believe them anyway.

Their words become a mumbled mess,

“I love your hair, eyes, smile, blah blah” you care less.

Some days are better and you feel okay,

But then you wake up and it’s another struggle filled day.

The problem is you don’t crave the attention,

Sometimes you wanna disappear into the background.

Both headphones go in and you fade away,

Music is the only way to fade away into the grey.

Music let’s the jumbled words flow into print,

It’s the only thing that keeps you from losing it.

The doubt starts to suffocate you again,

This time will it finally win?

Your head somehow breaks through the surface,

Your story still doesn’t have an end.

You fake that pretty smile people love,

Another day has just begun.

Today you look in the mirror and smile,

You love yourself today oh so fine.

As the day continues you start to lose your confidence,

It’s back to climbing up that flat endless fence.

And here you go doubting everything and yourself again,

Back to this game of life of pretend.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
