Does anyone actually follow through with these? Oh! Some people actually do? Man...maybe I should give it a shot then. Well here goes nothing!
1. Be nice
I'll be the first to admit, I actually do struggle with this. Sometimes I want to gossip, okay all the time; and I can be very, very petty at times. These two things are some very bad habits that I would love to break in the upcoming year! I'd rather give everyone a chance and try to be friends with them rather than pushing everyone away and be about as judgmental as a court judge himself! I think by doing this I'll really try my hardest to stop and think before I say something about someone else, and I'll go talk to them first and get to know them rather than straight off blowing them off by the first impression I received.
2. Working out
Now, wait! Don't just blow this off and scroll past it, because I want to actually try! I mean I want to start going to the free Zumba and Yoga classes that my amazing school offers and maybe I'll even pass by the gym. Well, let's be honest, I probably won't because the only workout equipment I know how to work is the vending machines that spit out healthy protein bars and energy drinks. I will admit, this had been on my resolution list for a very, very, long time but I actually think I'll start committing to this one with the new freedom college has provided. How about we all just say a quick prayer hoping we'll all work our next year like we've been telling ourselves since about 2012.
3. Getting organized
I am already working on this one as we speak, I've made quite a few trips to various thrift shops and donation areas to drop off unwanted items I've found in my room and office. One thing I need to organize the most is my car. I'm a total mess when it comes to keeping junk out of my car because I usually get home late every day, so taking everything out just doesn't seem worth it to me. Throughout the new year, I don't only want a clean car, but I'll start trying to get home before 10 every night. The lack of sleep seems to be running my energy in the mornings. It's so hard for me to get up before 9 and I'd like to get to work in the mornings by 8 and also train myself to be ready to wake up for the 8 AM classes I'll have next semester.
That's about it for me, hopefully throughout the year I'll keep referencing back to this article and work on the things I've said. i even wrote these three things down on my dry erase board, so I'll see these three things everyday. You never know, this may be my year.
