You have to admit, 2016 was definitely the year of the meme. I'm here to help break down the year meme by meme. Shall we reflect on the good, the bad, and the funny?
January
The year started off with the lovely, Bernie vs. Hillary meme. The internet could literally compare anything about them and people would still laugh.
February
February was the start of "get you a man that can do both." This meme still hasn't gotten old. I still see several renditions of it all over twitter!
March
Sad Papaw was all over the internet in March and to be honest, I'm still mad at his grandkids!
April
To this day I do not understand "Dat Boi," but the world seems to love him. He made his debut in a physics book, but his internet debut was made in April, 2016.
May
May was the month of Spongegar. This prehistoric sponge radiates fear, panic and rage. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to be the one to face him.
June
Ah yes, the month of the, "Kermit sipping his tea" meme. When this meme first circulated the internet, I had absolutely no idea what it meant. Now I not only understand Kermit, but I identify with him. So much.
July
Back painting memes, the worst of all memes. Seriously, get a canvas for God's sake.
August
August was the month of Arthur's fist and frankly, I don't think I'll ever stop loving this meme. It's just so relevant in so many situations. How can you not love it?
September
Name a more iconic duo...
I'll wait.
October
Ken Bone, legend. That's really all I can even say about him.
November
The BFFs that are Barack Obama and Joe Biden weren't just pros at running the country, they also make for very hilarious post-election memes.
December
On December 5th, the world got wind of the Canadian Car Crash. If that doesn't describe 2016 in a nutshell, I don't know what possibly could.
