15 Indications You're An Old Soul, Trapped In A Young Body

Have you ever felt like you don't fit in with people in your age group?

Has anyone told you that you're mature for your age?

Then those are the possibilities that you're an old soul.

Here are 16 indications you're an old soul, trapped in a young body:

1. You have a strong appreciation for older music and movies

You like the idea of learning about older movies and music. You sometimes feel like they have more meaningful messages than newer films and music.

2. You struggled to relate to people in your age group

Since you're mature for your age, it's hard to relate to people your age because they tend to be more immature. Most younger people do not understand significant life things as well as you do because you're more open-minded and willing to learn.

3. You're more of a listener than a talker

Talking tends to be difficult for you because you fear that nobody will understand your deep thoughts. You're more of a listener because you believe it's good manners and you want people to know that you're here.

4. You aren't a materialist

My dad told me the other day, even at 5 years old, I really did not want anything for Christmas. My response was that there are more meaningful things than just presents. The best gifts are having great parents, wonderful friends, and the opportunity for education.

5. You detest negativity

You don't appreciate people who bring down others because negativity does not get anyone anywhere. Instead of wallowing in negativity, you try to see the silver lining in everything since it allows you to be able to see the beauty in everything.

6. You understand significant life lessons

You value life lessons because you know that learning from them will allow you to succeed.

7. People struggled to understand you

Since you're different than your peers, they have a difficult time understanding you because you're not normal. Normal does not even exist in your world. Instead, you're your own person and you don't worry about what others think.

8. You're comfortable with alone time

There is a difference between being alone and loneliness. It is possible to be alone and be happy with it. It is also possible being surrounded by people and being lonely. Even though you enjoy being with your family and friends, you sometimes need some space because it makes it easier for you to unwind and relax your mind and body more.

9. You tend to have a difficult time fitting in

It's more difficult for you to fit in because you're different from everyone in your age group.

10. You have a mature mind, but you're still far from being in the middle of your life

Old souls are considered to be wiser and more mature for their age. You tend to get annoyed when someone acts and talks like a child and it's too much for your mature mind to handle.

11. You sometimes feel underestimated

You tend to keep your thoughts to yourself because you feel like your peers will not understand what you're thinking, which sometimes makes them underestimate you. You tend to be underestimated because of your youthful looks and tender age.

12. You appreciate deep connections

You value relationships, friendships, and opportunities, especially having deep connections. You're all about quality over quantity.

13. You desire authenticity

You appreciate older things and real things. For example, you choose physical books over Kindles. You want something real in relationships and freindships because genuine connections are important to you.

14. You're not superficial

You never understood why looks are important to everyone because you believe there are other traits that are more appealing and you crave emotional fulfillment. Looks do not guarantee anything because your personality matters more than your looks.

15. You don't settle for less

You're not interested in settling because you believe in passion and there is nothing passionate about settling. You believe that settling will hold you back from pursuing the opportunities you want to watch. You don't allow anyone to walk all over you, you refuse to work a job you hate, and you know your worth.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
