In my time writing for Odyssey, I've talked about issues that are of a massive importance to me. These have ranged from the conditions in Venezuela to my stance as part of the LGBTQ+ community. Those were important topics, topics I needed to talk about, so as I find myself in the midst of extreme writer's block I can't help but find it funny.
No matter how seriously you take your goals, your hobbies, your work, sometimes you just can't think of anything smart to say. A real shame right?
It's weeks like this that keep you grounded after a weekend of writing goes really well. Weekends like these remind you that at the end of the day you're only as good as the ideas you have in the moment.
It's important to not let this sort of thing get you angry though, you can't really control when a good idea will come to you. You can't make yourself the one it comes to. Sometimes you win big, sometimes you lose a little. All I really know is this weekend there just wasn't much talk between my mind and my keys. It's a quiet week, maybe that's a good thing.
Maybe now that I've gotten those out of my system I can go write something of substance, a real difference maker. Until then, writer's block is my friend, writer's block is going to stick around.
