4 Reason Why I Won't Leave America No Matter Who is Elected President
Wikipedia

We are pretty damn lucky to live in a country as free and prosperous as the United States of America. We take for granted every day the privileges we receive living in a democracy such as ours. We are so blessed to live in a country where every citizen can call these privileges "rights," so many people across the globe cannot say the same.

Recently, many people on social media, including celebrities have made comments or hints that if a particular candidate is elected as President they will leave the country, as a political refugee. Here are four reasons why that logic is so extremely flawed.

1. The president is only one aspect of three major branches of government.

Many voters do not realize the reality that the US Government is made up of three specific branches. The Executive branch, The Legislative branch, and the Judicial Branch. So many people have the mentality that whoever is elected President is the "Monarch" of America and has supreme all-controlling power. This is factually wrong. Whoever is elected; yes even Mr. Trump, will have 2 other branches of US government watching over their every move.

2. The president only serves for four (or eight) years!

Do we not realize that four years is not long enough to completely destroy the United States of America? If one thinks the United States is that weak and vulnerable then that is a true testament to their lack of patriotism. We have the most powerful and developed military in the entire world. I think we can handle four years...because after all the US Military is an entire entity of their own separate from the Executive branch.

3. The liberal and conservative agendas aren't all that different.

Liberals and Conservatives alike want to fix this "broken election system" that has crippled the primary elections during this presidential election. As different as Republicans and Democrats can be, they actually have more similar goals than altering. The effort will be in deciding which path to chose to arrive at those specific goals.

4. You shouldn't abandon your country.

It seems so silly to me, and to be honest childish and foolish to just pick up and leave your country because you disagree with who was elected. You are a citizen of your country and you have a moral responsibility to be mature enough to stand by your country even when you don't agree with the acting presidential administration's political ideologies. A country is more than just its politics; a Country is ITS PEOPLE.

So please this 2016 election season, campaign and vote passionately, but also do not flee your country because you are a sore loser. Many foolish losers stated back in 2008 when Senator Obama was elected President Obama that they would leave for Canada, because he was going to be the destruction of America. Those people did not move to Canada, and America is still standing and actually doing much better economically under the Obama Administration. We must have faith in our great country, and not make foolish statements such as fleeing to other countries because of political differences.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
