Woman To Woman: Let's Start Empowering

Woman To Woman: Let's Start Empowering
With Grace & Guts

There is one characteristic, more than anything, I am disgusted about when it comes to being a woman...and that is our reputation to only tear each other down. I have never understood how we can all sit back and let actions like this continue to happen on a daily basis.

Everyday I scroll down social media or take a listen to the conversations going on around me, and nine times out of ten, the females are talking bad about another girl one way or another. It makes me cringe at the thought of knowing this is what we have created, instead of uplifting comments to help women everywhere feel empowered. Since when does bashing others for their choice in anything...give you such a high that you forget your own flaws? Nobody is perfect. Everyone's lifestyle choices are not going to match yours, get over it.

I can't even fit on my two hands the amount of times a week I hear a snarky comment about how this girl shouldn't be wearing this, he is way too hot for her, why would she ever do that, I can't get over her status about...PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF MASCARA, STOP! If you ever want women to come together for a common good, and deliver the message that girls really can run the world, we need to not warrant the regularity of these nasty comments.

Not every person that stands in front of you may have the strength and self assurance that you yourself may hold, always keep that in mind. A simple comment to your friends, could be what throws this girl over the edge in whatever battles she herself may be struggling with. It is not your job to decide wether or not her outfit is appropriate for her body type, maybe she feels beautiful, and who are you to dictate that. Your opinion when it comes to her love life is mute. She is the one carrying the happiness and the decision of who and how she choses her endearment is up to her, and her only. When did talking about what others do in their spare time have to become such negative dialogue? Can't we have a more positive topic of conversation, and note what maybe someone is doing that makes them happy and why that is important, rather than the opposing option.

Imagine a world where we use our power of spreading word to do so positively. Where we as women band together to enrich lives and encourage beneficial observations with each other. Just dream of that world, how much better the assurance of knowing we have each others back through thick and thin, the impact we could make. Envision the beauty that will be seen across the world. We as humans vitally need this to create a form of peace across the board, so why not start women to women.

Fuel the fire not of hate but empowerment to your fellow beauties. This is our time to show we are stronger than this, we are better than this, and we can move forward from the hate that has for so long been a norm. Look for reasons to give compliments not criticism. Look for ways to thank the women around you for all that they do and all that they are. Know that the effort you put towards the positivity of your fellow females will not go unnoticed, it will also uplift you in such way you have not known before. It seems easy as that, and it is. Every small move you make yourself sets a scene for someone else to do the same, start a chain. Radiate beauty by being an example of just that, having admirable words for one another.

Start by using this as a stepping stone, send this to a fellow female who may need that extra boost of loving words right now, instead of messaging about some girl in your psychology class you think needs to stop dying her hair and get an eyebrow wax. Because in reality, nobody actually cares about trivial little things like that, she is probably an amazing person, and maybe you should take the time to uplift her rather than creating drama. Who knows...she may be the one girl you need to have your back one day, and you'll look back at this and be glad you used your powers for good over evil. We as women have this ability to make things happen, so why not make this happen by starting a new trend, a trend of admiration not aversion.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
