As I'm sure many of you have seen, Kesha is fighting an ongoing battle against her music producer at Sony Records, Dr. Luke, to get her out of a binding contract with him so that she is able to produce music without his influence. His existence is potentially toxic to her well-being after the brutal abuse that he has put her through for several years.

According to the New York Daily News, Kesha Sebert is claiming that Dr. Luke gave her a drug when she was an 18-year-old virgin that made her black out. Shortly after, he allegedly raped her. She woke up naked in his hotel room bed and could tell that something had happened. She was too scared to go to the police, but she reported this crime to doctors. Sources claim that there is medical evidence to prove that the rape happened.

In another incident, Kesha said that Dr. Luke had forced himself on her after they snorted a drug before getting on a plane. In a third alleged incident, Kesha stated that Dr. Luke physically attacked her at his house in Malibu, and she escaped by running down a highway barefoot. Kesha said that she actually feared for her life.

After checking into a rehab center for an eating disorder related to these incidents with Dr. Luke, doctors said that any contact with Dr. Luke would be “life threatening” for Kesha. Kesha is suing Dr. Luke for sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, civil harassment, unfair business and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Last week, Kesha went to court in Manhattan to fight this horrible situation out with Dr. Luke. According to Fox News, the result of the trial was that New York Supreme Justice Shirley Kornreich denied Kesha’s request for a preliminary injunction that would lift her contract with Sony Records and free her from having to continue working with Dr. Luke. The court stated that Kesha’s abuse allegation lacked facts and truth.

Kesha has been receiving an outpour of support via Twitter and many other forms of social media. Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, Lorde, Zedd and Demi Lovato are just a few of the many celebrities who have stood up to speak out about Kesha’s court case and want to try and make a difference. Taylor Swift donated $250,000 to Kesha to help support her and cover some of her financial needs at this time. Clearly, there are many people that believe what’s happening to Kesha is totally f’ed up.

Dr. Luke took to Twitter in an attempt to get people to see his side of the story. He tweeted, “I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister.” He tweeted again, “It’s a shame that there’s so much speculation out there basing itself on so little information.”

Despite what Dr. Luke is trying to get people to believe, a majority of the people out there are standing by Kesha’s side and choosing to believe her side of the story. This is a classic case of a man on a power trip. If Kesha's story is indeed true, then this guy believes that he is too much of a “man” to swallow his pride and understand what a shitty thing he did, and that this shitty thing deserves punishment. This is why so many women are terrified to stand up for themselves after they have been violated or abused; it is humiliating and scarring to even speak out loud about it. Kesha's bravery that she has shown while speaking out about this is truly inspiring.

Dr. Luke is also tweeting about how back in 2011, Kesha denied that Dr. Luke had ever raped her. Of course Dr. Luke is using this to his advantage, but from Kesha’s side of it, this was her only defense mechanism. She was too scared to admit the truth. She didn’t know what would happen to her because he had already been threatening the safety of herself, her friends and her family. This is what occurs with many victims of domestic abuse and violence. It’s not as easy as telling people about what happened and hoping that it will help the situation and make a difference. You have to think about what the abuser would do, and it's scary to think of the reaction that the abusive person in the relationship will have.

Kesha, keep fighting for your freedom, and thank you for sending a message to girls and women everywhere. Although it may be easier to let things go and not bring it to the court level, it’s worth it to for Kesha to (hopefully) not have to live in a sick, twisted trap for the rest of her life. She deserves to be free of this contract and the emotional draining that it is causing her by working at Sony Records. She deserves to make music the way that she wants to in an environment that she is comfortable with. She deserves to see the man that has literally ruined her mental health and her life be put in handcuffs and thrown in jail. We’re rooting for you, Kesha. Go kick his ass.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
