5 Ways The People Of Miami Do Winter

While part of United States is recovering from winter storm Jonas, down here in South Florida, we are experiencing "extreme" winter weather for Miamians. This is what the majority of people in Miami do when winter is occurring in the sunshine state.

1. Extreme winter apparel

When the temperature drops below 70 degrees, we bring out the Arctic apparel. All the scarves, coats and furry boots. Practically anything that has fur on it. Hoping to wear it all as much as we can before the heat wave makes an appearance again all year round.

2. Bonfires galore

We look for an opportunity to light up a bonfire and make a party. Toast some marshmallows and make s'mores during the weekend, since that is what people in northern states do, right?

3. Do outdoor activities

Everyone in Miami decided to finally go outside to ride their bike or go for a walk and actually not complain on how hot it is. Time to appreciate a mosquito and humidity free zone.

4. Hot chocolate and Starbucks selfies

Your Instagram feed will be annoyingly filled with hot coco or Starbucks selfies with captions about how cold it is. It's a must to post a picture of such beverages in this weather.

5. Good hair days

No more lion mane or frizz. Every girl will take an opportunity for this weather to achieve the perfect hair day and of course take good selfies. Just check your Instagram; there is probably one up already.

Bundle up and stay toasty!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
