Over winter break, there seems like there is nothing to do except count down the days until we're back for spring semester. More often than not, I find myself bundled up in bed not wanting to do anything but cuddle with my dogs and watch Netflix. With that being said, I'm making this list not only for you readers, but for myself as a reminder to do something with my break.
Read a book. It can be an old favorite or a new release, don't let that brain sleep all break.
Spend time with your siblings. You might start fighting about something after about an hour but think about how nice that first hour could be. Plus your parents will love it.
Make a mixtape. You remember illegally sharing music with your besties in middle school? Make a throwback CD of all those songs and make that your go-to in your car.
Take advantage of your city. Go to a local sporting event or an NBA game. If tickets are too much, go to a sports bar/restaurant and get into the game with all the drunk dilfs.
Get a job. Many businesses and shops are looking for seasonal help! Take advantage of this and make some extra cash.
Visit your grandparents. *Sentimental moment* Life is short and time is limited, take advantage of what you have now. Talk to them about everything and anything they want to. Grandparents are also very giving, you might even score some $$$ to take back to school.
Party with your high school friends. Nothing is better than drunk high school friends reminiscing on old memories and talking about all the new things in life.
SOBERLY HANGOUT WITH HIGH SCHOOL FRIENDS. Really catch up, not just the silly little "How are you? or What have you been doing?" chat.
Pinterest. That's right! It's time to finally try out something you pinned on Pinterest last year! Try out a recipe for a holiday party or craft something for a family member.
Go to the gym. Get up and do something! Stay active and fit through the cold.
Make a ginger bread house. Do it with your 7 year old cousin or your 21 year old childhood best friend.
Watch family videos. Watch your brother trying to trick you into eating a worm when you were 3 years old because you thought it looked like Spaghetti.
Look up holiday events in your town. Most towns have special events such as tree lightings or festivals or fun little christmas celebrations. Take advantage of these and try them out.
Make a list of goals. Think about what you liked and didn't like about this past year and make a list of the things you want to change, check them off as you go. So basically a new years resolution list.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
Stay in bed and watch Netflix with your dogs. Lets be real, I'll probably do maybe 5 of these. Take some time to yourself and enjoy break, you deserve it!
